Deleted Article: RotoQL

Good morning, Jimfblreak:

I awoke this morning to see a page (RotoQL) that I had been editing because of its flag for 'Speedy Deletion' for 'unambiguous advertising and promotion' was dangerously accurate and the article did in many ways fall into line with the reasons for deletion, found here: This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 07:32, 18 January 2016 Jimfbleak (talk | contribs) deleted page RotoQL (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

I had added a 'Corporate Infobox' in a rush to help legitimize the page, but did not contest the 'Speedy Deletion' as I began to seriously edit the article. I was wondering if you might be able to restore the deleted article or at least the information to it so that I may continue improving it as to avoid further issues. The product is less than a month old, and having experience refining Wikipedia articles, I'm sure that my continuing efforts will prevent any further issues.

As I am fairly new to the Wikipedia community, any and all links to your response, the potentially restored information/article, and/or anything of the like would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ambidandy (talkcontribs) 14:51, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, Jimfblreak:
There is no COI, as I am not being compensated for either article. I noticed that a RotoQL article was created and linked to maxdalury, so I began to work on that before it was deleted. I understand the inflated, contentious claims, but when the software is developed by the world's #1 ranked DFS player, it's hard to refute superlatives. I do not believe the RotoQL article will be able to stand alone at this point, but I will see what I can do to further establish veritable resources and avoid the promotional tone. Again there is no COI.
Thank you for the prompt response and explanations on the matter.
Ambidandy (talk) 17:03, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ambidandy, thanks for COI query response. From what you have said I take it that you are not asking for the deleted text to be sandboxed at the present time. If I've misunderstood or you change your mind, let me know Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:54, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article is back (deleted twice now...*1/for copyright infringement and *2/for unambiguous promotion). The creating editor is certainly persistent, but could we maybe work with him? It looks to me that Eaton is possibly/probably notable. I don't have time to fix it up today, will try to get to it later this week, but could the content maybe be moved to userspace, Teahouse invites sent, etc. Thx, Shearonink (talk) 22:10, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I accidentally deleted this post when it was first left- my sincere apologies to Shearonink and Jimfbleak. Josh Milburn (talk) 10:08, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Shearonink, thanks for note. Article now deleted three times and salted. I'm always ready to work with good faith editors, but Cliff Crumpton makes no attempt to engage, he just keeps reposting highly promotional material, and the three refrences he gives don't support any of his claims (not even the one to his own page!). There is clearly an undeclared conflict of interest too. Josh Milburn, don't worry, we've all done it Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:12, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, at least one of the editors who was editing that declared their COI. I just remember they posted somewhere (I guess on one of the deleted talk pages) a plaintive-sounding plea asking for some help & I didn't have the time to delve into the article at that moment. When I used to hangout in -en-help I felt badly for the poor interns or low-level staffers who get ordered to create a page for their boss and are then in fear of losing their job etc... There was also a second editor ("Nat[something... Natgeschler maybe?]). Yeah... Thanks for the reply. Shearonink (talk) 15:11, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Shearonink, FWIW, Natekush is the other part of the tag team. They appear to have moved on to Pascal Franchot now. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:42, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Article:

Laserlightshow, Thank you for taking time to review my request, how can I provide an explanation for the contested article deletion? I realize I did edit the article a few times due to the categories not being properly inserted and in the correct placement while correcting a few other links that were in fact not correct. In no way was the intent for advertisement in any for is was merely attempting to extend from another article "ISS Space Laser" that describes a rocket launch that was historic in nature and this secondary article was further description. The sandbox should have been used more to repair the insert errors with my apologizes. How can I make amend ? Marcus email [email protected] I'm making many mistakes with the site but I'm learning quickly. —Preceding undated comment added 09:05, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

Karnan film

Hai, I requesting you to check whether this article Karnan (upcoming film) meets notability. The film was officially announced few days back. But the production has not started and reports says not in near future. Some reports suggests it's still in scripting phase. I proposed deletion, but the tag was removed by the article's major contributor. I renominated the article, but again removed by a suspicious new user User:CinemaVaarika who created his account just few hour ago only to eliminate my deletion tag. I also suspect him as a sock of the article's major contributor who has also similar user name. Even if I renominate it again, I doubt how long the tag will remain. So I decided to take it on to an admin. Charles Turing (talk) 19:07, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Turing, the references mostly do not meet our criteria for independent third party references, and it's too soon. If the intention is to produce an encyclopaedia article, rather than promote a forthcoming film, it can wait for notability to be fully established. I don't think any of the contributors has declared a conflict of interest even though it looks like tag-team editing on behalf of the film. CinemaVaarika looks every much like a sock to do the dirty work. I've semi-protected the article space and I'll block that account, or any new single-purpose accounts which appear to be malicious in intent, if there is further transgression. Jimfbleak, another article about "Karnan" has came Untitled Mammootty Madhupal Film, but this time its a rumoured film and got a special mention for Karnan (upcoming film) in it. This time its worse than the last, its a promotional article about a "rumoured" film. Also found another rumoured film Thoppil Joppan. Charles Turing (talk) 19:27, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Colette Richarme

Hi, Jim. Just saw your message. I am not paid by anyone to work on this page, nor am I affiliated with anyone other than myself. Hope that is helpful. Samrkaplan (talk) 00:36, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Samrkaplan, thank you for your declaration. You appear to have ignored the first two paragraphs of my previous comments regarding referencing. Please fix this as soon as possible, otherwise I'll consider deleting again. You still give the whole of two dictionaries as your references, with no page numbers, and you need in-line citations so we can see what fact each reference is supporting. Deletion of Ran Poliakine

Hi Jim :), As I didn't have time to contest the speedy deletion because I wasn't near a computer I Would like to ask what exactly was promotional. Ran has been a part of creating some amazing life saving products, and he has also changed the way we look at charging (wireless charing) Powermat Technologies. I have added supporting articles to the fact and there is even a wiki page for one of the companies that he has created. Please help me out because I know that this is a game changing person in the world and that is what I believe Wikipedia is for right? What makes him different than Marc Andreessen for example? There are a lot more articles for citation I just didn't get around to them. Please help this person deserves to be on Wikipedia. Thank you. Rpk2014 (talk) 08:03, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding blocking of IP address and ID of "User:CMPL Social"

Dear Jimfbleak

This is regarding blocking the ID "CMPL Social" and deletion of the page named "Celebrities Management Private Limited.' I wish to clarify that the content on the page was not for any kind of promotion and the information put up on the page was 100 per cent correct. But due to lack of references online or print, I was not able to cite most of the facts. I wish to assure that we totally agree and understand the terms and conditions for posting information on Wikipedia and abide by it, but no information put up is (was) false. Since Wikipedia's policy does not allow one to cite press releases as references, I am tied up. Shall be thankful if my IP address and username (which will be changed) are unblocked. Sanganijasraj (talk) 10:23, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sanganijasraj, contrary to what you say, the text of the deleted page was highly promotional as well as being unsourced. The procedure for requesting an unblock so you can change your user name is in the pink box on your talk page, please follow it. I won't consider any request myself because that's not fair on you. You have an obvious conflict of interest when discussing this topic, which you have not explicitly declared, but your edits from this account seem innocuous so far. Note that if the Celebrities Management Private Limited or any similar page is recreated, it is likely that the creating editor will be blocked for evading the block of User:CMPL Social Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:55, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Cont. Deletion of Ran Poliakine

I want to start off by saying that My name is Philip Kushmaro and I do not work for Ran Poliakine or am associated although there is a significant person in my life that their first initial is "R" so I sometimes us that in my usernames, so that is the where the acronym is from. Nice catch BTW. :) I appreciate the very thorough feedback. If I re-do the article the way you mentioned, with only neutral citations and neutral wording will you help me post this? As this person has contributed to the world we live in, I do think he should be noted in a wiki page, don't you think? Is there a page that you believe I can use as a template to help me out? Again appreciate your time. Rpk2014 (talk) 12:38, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the deletion of the PriceMDs.com page

Hi this is regarding the deletion of the PriceMDs.com page. I was editing the page in order to inform the reader about a company that I cam across. I would like to recreate the page, just as an informative page with factual info about the company that would be supported by appropriate references. Do you have any advice for me on re-doing the page so that it will not get deleted? (Soccer4545 (talk) 19:06, 20 January 2016 (UTC))[reply]

Soccer4545, I'll be logging off shortly, so although the article has major problems, you will have to wait until tomorrow for a detailed response. Please don't recreate in the meantime because it will be protected form further creation if you do Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:22, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you (: (Soccer4545 (talk) 19:41, 20 January 2016 (UTC))[reply]
Soccer4545, since you have been blocked by Bbb23 as a sock puppet, there is no point pursuing this at the present time. If the situation changes in the future, we can discuss the article then Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:16, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

M S Ramaiah

In a light moment, I tagged M. S. Ramaiah for speedy deletion. I didn't really mean it. It was just now that I realised that the article was indeed deleted. Could you undelete it? The advertising tone was only minor and could have been fixed by some editing. There were no major problems. Also, the article was several years old and shouldn't have been speedied. Considering the size of MS Ramaiah group pf institutions (it's huge - maybe a hundred acres -- I have been to it), the man should definitely be notable. Or let us at least discuss this at AFD. 103.6.159.87 (talk) 09:05, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

103.6.159.87, whether you meant it or not, it clearly meets the criteria. It's an unsourced biography of a living person, in itself grounds for deletion via prod, and it's blatant and unrelenting spam. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include a visionary... a philanthropist... a pioneer of journalism.... architect of colossal educational institutions... his largesse... His success in the field of civil works— and so on. He's clearly notable, but this page is pure unsourced spam. You could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created, and see if there is a registered user prepared to take it on. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:01, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to mention the dozen or so spamlinks too. I'm not prepared to restore, and it's too blatant for AfD. You could try requests for undeletion if you think I've got it wrong Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:22, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

VerneMQ

Hi there, can you tell me more about the reasons for deleting the VerneMQ article? Similar articles regarding open source projects (also projects with a company sponsor in the back) exist since years and provide a valuable addition to Wikipedia. Please have a look at the articles I've linked in the 'See Also' Section, they are all the exact same nature of the VerneMQ' article. Of course VerneMQ might be a comparable young project, however in the industry already recognized as an interesting open source alternative. Drverne (talk) 09:11, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User: NihartouJason

Hi.

I would like to draw your attention to the user contributions - NihartouJasonyu. I think he's one of the side of previous wars in article Frederick Achom. he sent the same messages to 14 users to discussion page. I worry about that, because I'm a little upgrated Achom's page, and it's was deleted. by the way, page was nominated for the deletion today (January 19). it's like vandalism: contributions only about Frederick and deletion section in AppyParking: [1]--27century (talk) 23:43, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have done everything according to wikipedia's policy. Whatever changes were made to the page were first discussed on the article's talk page and whatever changes I made the reasons for them are given here Talk:Frederick_Achom/sandbox. I even asked admin User:Jeff_G. to check my work once, only after he went through it, I ported the page to the main article space. Also the deletion tag was put by another admin User:Mdann52 which was resolved because I had written a much neutral article. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Frederick_Achom Thank You NihartouJason (talk) 05:44, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Good job, but I'm not an admin here, and I've never claimed to be one.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 05:55, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Today one user User:Addiecolb tried to revert back the page to its promotional state. This user has only contributions to this page.NihartouJason (talk) 05:44, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this article appears to attract promotional WP:SPAs. Perhaps it could use semi-protection.   — Jeff G. ツ (talk) 05:55, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Jeff G. ツ, the page has been indef semi-protected since September, following a shorter protection by another admin. Unfortunately, other than stopping ISP editing, that's a low bar since it's easy for registered accounts to edit elsewhere to meet the criteria, as Addiecolb showed. That account and NihartouJason are both SPAs, an obvious cause for concern, since at the least it implies COI editing. The next step would be to block anyone edit warring, so perhaps this can be taken as a warning. I'm too busy in RL for a few days to go through the history, but I'll do so when I can to see if there are grounds for more targeted warnings Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:50, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gerald Murnane's Inland

Hello, I was working on creating a page for the book Inland – which is one of the most acclaimed, important and central works by one of the most acclaimed of contemporary Australian authors – and noticed that you deleted it before I'd had time flesh it out and add sources. Fair enough! I just wanted to check, I guess, that were I to re-create it and flesh it out (with sources), it wouldn't be deleted again. Cheers. Ergwald (talk) 14:21, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the response. I will respond here in reverse order, if you don't mind. First, I have no conflict of interest whatsoever, indeed have never been in contact with the other, or even on the same continent at the same time. Second, I'll try to balance it somehow, although it seems the book had a more mixed response when it was released (reviews which are harder for me to get ahold of), and that most of the later writings about it have been laudatory. But I ought to find something. Finally, regarding page numbers, mind informing me what common practice is when multiple parts of one source is used in multiple places? is it to create multiple citations to the same source each with different page numbers? or to write the numbers as "ii, 3, 42, 109"? Thanks. Ergwald (talk) 10:21, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stefan Pylarinos Article Deleted Issue: What Went Wrong?

Hi Jimfbleak,

My name's Abraar and I'm a Wikipedia user. I wanted to create an article page about Stefan Pylarinos who runs the Project Life Mastery blog. I wanted to create a page like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_Sykes which is about Timothy Sykes. I created my page but it was recently deleted by you. But I'm really in the dark here, what went wrong? It was marked as "advertisement" but I honestly didn't find any advertising content (or promotional/marketing information) in it. I want to recreate that page again, so could you please tell me which sentences were seemed advertising/promotional content to you? So that I can exclude them when creating the new page.

And the truth is, I didn't have any intentions of advertising or promoting Stefan's content. I'm not an affiliate or associated with Stefan's marketing in any ways. I just wanted to create a Wikipedia page so general users/visitors would be able to find more about Stefan if they're interested, and I tried so that it only contains neutral information from a neutral perspective.

Thank you,
