7flix is an upcoming Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, which will be launched by the Seven Network on 28 February 2016.[1]

History

On 18 December 2015, a test pattern began broadcasting on channel 76 reading "New Channel Coming Soon".[2] Seven acknowledged the broadcast and director of programming Angus Ross formally announced on 1 February 2016 that Seven was launching a new channel and more details would be released soon.[3] During the ad-break of miniseries Molly on 7 February 2016, Seven announced that channel 76 would be named 7flix and would be launched on 28 February 2016.[4][5][6][1] The "New Channel" test pattern was then replaced with a continuous promo loop for 7flix.

Availability

7flix will be available in standard definition digital in metropolitan areas and regional Queensland through Seven Network owned-and-operated stations including ATN Sydney, HSV Melbourne, BTQ Brisbane, SAS Adelaide, TVW Perth and STQ Queensland. Regional affiliates Prime7/GWN7, Southern Cross Seven and WIN7 have provided no word yet of their intentions to carry 7flix.

Programmierung

Premiere series will include Grandfathered, Galavant and Agent Carter. Series including Once Upon A Time, The Muppets, The Mindy Project and The Amazing Race, which have previously debuted on the Seven Network, will air new seasons on 7flix.[7]

7flix also features films sourced from its studio-output deals, including Columbia Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, DreamWorks with Touchstone, Universal Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures.
