Vellanki is a village located in Krishna district in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The village is located at about 45 km from Vijayawada and 12 km from Kanchikacherla. The village follows the Panchayati raj system.

Demographics

The population of Vellanki is 2887 as per 2011 census of India. Literacy level is 58% and agricultural labor is 40% of total population of the village.[2]

Agriculture

The region around the village has fertile soil and irrigation is supported by the Wyra River which originates at Wyra tank in Khammam district and meets at Munneru in Krishna district. Wyra River flows through west side of Vellanki. Besides rice, farmers of this village also grow Subabul,[3] cotton, Chili pepper, coarse grain, nuts.

Bildung

Z.P. High School provide education to students from this village.[4]

Banks

Saptagiri Grameena Bank which is a Regional Rural Bank located in Vellanki serving financial needs of farmers within the village and as well as farmers of other neighborhood villages.

Politics

Vellanki is politically active village, with total 2099 voters out of which 1042 are male voters and 1057 are female voters as per Electoral Roll, year of revision 2015.[5]
