Is their a way to exclude the results before 2014 as it would not prove anything if the results included pre-2014 results? @In ictu oculi: -sarvajna (talk) 20:00, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Google News searches pretty well do that automatically, most of those are recent. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:25, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
All of that is irrelevant unfortunately. The only thing that matters is whether common usage (usually tested by news sources) have picked up the official change. These changes often take years. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:37, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The Wikipedia policy is WP:MPN - use modern names, like using Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Volgograd and Saint Petersburg instead of Constantinople, Ragusa, Stalingrad or Leningrad. Aditya(talkcontribs) 00:53, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I can get search results for Bombay as well. -sarvajna (talk) 22:19, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:MPN. Latest sources including news, use "Kalaburgi" now. Lorstaking (talk) 05:45, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment the original post proposed a move to a less common variant Kalaburgi when it should have been to the official name Kalaburagi. The latter is much more common in news searches, and is also more common than Gulbarga. The search quoted by In ictu oculi is of little value. As is this discussion.
