Anil Lad

Anil Lad is a leader of Indian National Congress and a member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Bellary. He was arrested by CBI in July 2015 in connection with illegal iron ore mining scam. The CBI has been investigating the case on a Supreme Court of India order.He is the fifth sitting MLA to be arrested in this case.MLAs Nagendra (Kudligi), T H Suresh Babu (Kampli), Anand Singh (Vijayanagar) and Satish Sail (Karwar) were arrested earlier.Lad is accused of illegally exporting 15,000 tonnes of seized iron ore in 2010 from Belekeri port.[1]

He was member of Rajya Sabha from Karnataka for the term 2008-2015. But he resigned from Rajya Sabha on 20 May 2013, after elected as MLA from Bellary. [2]
