M. Sukumaran

M. Sukumaran (1943-2018) was an author and short story writer in Malayalam. He was born at Chittur in Palakkad District, Kerala. Won the Kerala Sahithya Academy award in 1976 for his book Marichittillathavarude Smarakangal.
While working at the office of Accountant General of Kerala at Trivandrum, he got involved with the leftist trade union movement. The authorities utilised the state of Emergency which prevailed in India during 1975-77 and terminated his employment.
The theme of all the writings of Sukumaran deal with the plight of the dispossessed and advocate an armed struggle for the liberation of the oppressed.
