Adhi Kot is a village and one of the 51 Union Councils (administrative subdivisions) of Khushab District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.[1] It is located at 32°6'13N 71°48'24E with an altitude of 177 metres (583 feet).[2]
The political system is the Wadera System. The Baghoor Bradri and Tiwana Bradri are at opposite levels. Baghoor Bradri (Eng. Gul Asghar Khan) is fighting against Jageer Darana's system while Tiwana Bradri is trying to make the old system stable. Gul Asghar Khan has been supporting PTI since 29-06-2018, but when Imran Khan selected Ahsan Ullah Tiwana as the MNA candidate From Khushab, Gul asghar Khan left the party and went into politics as a free candidate. He refused to support PTI because of Imran Khan's vision on democracy.
There is a small group of filmmakers in Adhi Kot. They released their Jungli Series which showed minor culture of that area. The film was directed and sponsored by Kashif Farooq, who also stared as an actor in the film.
History
The Adhi Kot meteorite landed in the area on 1 May 1919.[3][4] The meteorite, known as the Adhi Kot stone, fell at 32°16′N 71°49′E / 32.267°N 71.817°E at 12PM, 15 miles (24 km) north of station Nurpur, Shahpur District (the area was part of the old Shahpur District during British Rule).[5]
