The Conservative vote has been incorrectly copied from the 1837 election page. The figures in Rallings and Thrasher (2007) are :-

Conservative 306,314 50.9% Liberal 273,902 46.9% Irish Repeal 12,537 2.1% Chartist 692 0.1% Total 593,445

Sorry, I don't know why my reference isn't showing up properly. Rmallett (talk) 16:40, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Now fixed by changing refname to ref name. Rmallett (talk) 13:45, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My edit has been reverted, in which I referred to this result as the best ever vote share for the Conservative Party. That was because I got the figure of 56.9% from Conservative_Party_(UK)#UK_general_elections.
The 1841 election article currently says their vote share was 51.6%, with 306,314 votes (the latter figure is the same as that given by Rmallett). However, at the Conservative Party article, the vote figure of 379,694 is given - which is exactly the same as that for the 1837 election above it, so something has gone wrong. ----TrottieTrue (talk) 22:33, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
