If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Harris v Forklift Systems, Inc (currently a redirect to Harris v. Forklift Systems, Inc.) → Harris v. Forklift Systems, Inc. (move · discuss) – The punctuation marks are missing. The page was moved by Wikidea on 01:16, 30 July 2018 from the correct title. The move appears to have been a mistake by the editor, as the editor works on American and European case law. European case law does not include periods in their legal case titles. Example, Wouters v Algemene Raad van de Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten. Mitchumch (talk) 09:40, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

- @Wikidea: The Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Legal § Article titles states, "Articles on cases should be titled according to the legal citation convention for the jurisdiction that handled the case." The "jurisdiction" for the above case is the United States. Within the sub-section "In the United States" it states:
- "Bluebook format, normally. This would result in (note the punctuation):
- National Railroad Passenger Corporation v. Boston & Maine Corporation (2001) being titled as National Railroad Passenger Corp. v. Boston & Maine Corp.;
- Bailey v. Drexel Furniture Co. being titled as shown; and
- Carter v. Carter Coal Company being titled as Carter v. Carter Coal Co."

- Science fiction film → Science-fiction film (currently a redirect back to Science fiction film) (move · discuss) – compound modifier UpdateNerd (talk) 08:13, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- A good faith suggestion, but this one seems fine as is. The Science Fiction article doesn't include the dash, nor does the {{Scififilmlist}} template of the List pages or its entries-by-decade. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:12, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- User:MJL/tl5 (currently a redirect to Template:Tl7) → Template:Tl5 (currently a redirect instead to Template:Template link with link off) (move · discuss) – Userspace template ready for primetime. A since blocked user had created the original {{tl5}}, but I moved it to {{tl5/old}}. Since I fiddled with things on {{tl5}} (thus creating more than one line of history), I am requesting this technical move per WP:MOR. Thank you, –MJL ‐Talk‐☖ 22:40, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
- I don't see how {{User:MJL/tl5}} is an improvement on the existing {{tlp}}. — JJMC89 (T·C) 23:14, 21 April 2019 (UTC)
- @MJL and JJMC89: Please sort out this dispute. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:49, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
