Move discussion in progress

Not a dab page

[edit]

@Jasper Deng: You reverted page move with comment: "this is not a set index article, and you didn't even capitalize this correctly. Long-standing WP:WPTC consensus is titles of this form".

This is in fact a set index article, not a disambiguation page. Please see WP:SIANOTDAB. Hurricanes named Michael are of one type: hurricanes. Note how the page is categorized. It's in Category:Set indices on storms. I didn't put it there; it was already categorized that way - and that is correct. A dab page is tagged with {{disambiguation}} and this page is not so tagged.
You refer to "long-standing WP:WPTC consensus", and I suggest you read it, specifically WP:WikiProject Tropical cyclones#Storm_set_index_articles. It says clearly that "All tropical cyclones of the same name should be visible through a set index article (e.g. List of tropical storms named Dean)." This is exactly what I am doing with the page move to "List of hurricanes named Michael". I suggest moving to that name.
You should also read the last bullet in that section that refers to how {{hurricane disambig}} has been deprecated. May you were unaware of the deprecation.
Also, if it isn't clear, again as per "long-standing consensus" the reason to use the descriptive title "List of..." is because Hurricane Michael is a primary topic.
Finally, regarding "didn't even [sic] capitalize this correctly", you're right, "hurricane" should not have been capitalized. Touché.Coastside (talk) 06:08, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hurricane Michael (disambiguation)List of hurricanes named Michael – This is not a disambiguation page; it's a set index article. Relevant policy is at WP:SIANOTDAB and WP:WikiProject Tropical cyclones#Storm_set_index_articles. All of the entries are of one type, i.e., hurricanes. There is also additional content pertaining to the topic - it's not just a list of terms to be disambiguated. The established policy at WP:WPTC explains how to name Storm set index articles, and this requested move is in accordance with that policy. Coastside (talk) 18:56, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
