seasons

[edit]

Where are you getting the idea this show has 4 seasons? The official website lists no seasons and the episodes have continuous numbering. Sick of Wikipedia breaking shows up into seasons based on fans' whims, and doing so randomly and inconsistently between shows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.102.44.174 (talk) 16:29, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think that is not an important thing, may be someone, who has created this page, has thought the break time between the 2nd and 3rd trip, between the 5th and 6th trip was like as the break between two seasons. But the episodes have still continuous numbering normally. Kenny (talk) 17:39, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's pretty important because media sites copy the information from here and then everyone has it wrong. Wikipedia's like this for tons of Korean and Japanese series. People just make their own junk up. Editors are supposed to be getting their information from reliable sources. In this case, the series' official site would be that source. It's not so easy to just fix this mistake, because there is a lot of messy formatting that has top be re-done. PLEASE, Wikipedia, more oversight on your Korean media stuff. Sick of rabid k-pop lunatics posting their own version of reality all over the place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.102.44.174 (talk) 22:32, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I'm trying to go through the sources, and one media reports refers to a "2" after the series name, but I can't find anything like that on the official site. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. So which is it? K-media being lousy or is the official site wrong? This is why full documentation of how things are done needs to be provided up front. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.102.44.174 (talk) 22:38, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discuss of the "Episodes" section of the current page version

[edit]

Lonedirewolf, as I wrote at the time of removing your recent edits, your version has many drawbacks compared to the previous version:

1/ Non-scientific presentation:

 • The order (No.) column is too sparse instead of as seamless as this table (because this two tables have the pretty same presentation).
 • The members are divided into episodes but should be listed in the members section, not in the notes section. (You solved this problem while I was editing the discussion.)
 • The notes section should only wirte the noteworthy things happening around the trip such as "the member had to leave early", "severe weather conditions", etc. If there is nothing special to note, deleting it is better than leaving it blank.

2/ Hard to read and find information (most important):

 • The benefit of the list of page content on the top is that viewers can access directly the information of trips as well as statistic on how many places have been visited, they don't need to read all the information of the table or use Ctrl+F to search for information.
 • In addition, the use of destinations as the title of the small section that make it possible to link directly from the members' wiki page to the exact trip information at the LOTJ wiki page. For example, with the previous version, Law of the Jungle in Sumatra, and with the current version, Law of the Jungle in Sumatra or Law of the Jungle in Sumatra.

So, my opinion is to go back to the previous version (removing the table structure). And if you keep the current version, you have to present them in a more scientific way. Kenny htv (talk) 16:38, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm open to improvements and have tried a few your suggestions but I still feel a table is necessary should there ever be a need to move it to a 'List of Law of the Jungle episodes' page if it becomes too long (and I already feel that it is), but the current format wouldn't suit. I understand the advantages of being able to edit each section so if it's a tedious task, we can separate it by year (with those that continue airing till the next year still included in the year it began airing) Lonedirewolf 17:26, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is what I propose, to still keep the headers for easy editing. Just move it altogether to a separate page to make the show's page cleaner. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lonedirewolf/sandbox. It'll be easier to expand each section because each location acts like a season for the show. Lonedirewolf 18:18, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Lonedirewolf, if you divide the sections by destination (like your sandbox), this is the pretty same version I created and usually edited before your changing (only one different thing is use the table or not). But in your case, using the table after splitting sections not only will not reduce the length of the page, it will also increase the number of unnecessary characters for the page (the code for creating the table). So, the previous page version is better than your sandbox version. Kenny htv (talk) 18:48, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I made it shorter with the table because it was my intention to make the main page neater because if the show continues, it will of course just make the page even longer, no matter what version we use. If the section were moved to a new page instead, it wouldn't be much of a problem. It also allows you to navigate freely. This is merely an alternative if the show's page becomes too long. Lonedirewolf 18:58, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To add, I plan on expanding the section of each location after the move, to give more information about each 'season' and probably add longer summaries. With the original format, it will just make it cluttered and these tables would help.Lonedirewolf 19:15, 21 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Lonedirewolf, I've reviewed quite a few times the page current version that you have modified and found acceptable (such as for the page nice view). So we should continue to edit in this format. You can add summaries if you want them just below the "Notes" or merge with it (in the same cell with "Theme", "Members" and "Notes", without adding another cell), like this:

*Theme:............
*Members:............
*Notes:............ (this line could be merged with summary)
*Summary:............

If the summary would be long, you can hidden it with Template:Show (For example: I Can See Your Voice) Kenny htv (talk) 11:10, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do that for now then. And thank you for modifying the table. Lonedirewolf 16:19, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar discussion

[edit]

This is based on what a editor put at my talkpage, which I feel it should also have some reference here too for #36

Hi, I corrected your sentence in List of Law of the Jungle episodes because this is my first time to see "broadcasted" is used instead of "broadcast" on Wikipedia. So write what you think is right, but if I see that you write "broadcasted" next time, I'll still fix it. Kenny htv (talk) 16:26, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

Kenny htvI understand my language is not that good either, which I should do better (although my primary language is English - I don't get distinctions in my exams for English to disclose, my General Paper was a credit (GCE A Level) and I often have every line of my essay corrected for grammar from my tutor). For clarity, "it is broadcasted" is correct grammar, but wrong time. As the broadcast did not end yet. But "it is broadcast" is wrong (grammar error), the correct form is "it broadcast". So both are wrong. Yes, after a cross checked "broadcasted" seems uncommon, but "aired" seems common "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Friends_from_Afar" or "shown" "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mightiest_Mother-in-Law". DO also reference to the https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/broadcasted as well as Usage notes on the pageThe past of broadcast is either broadcast or broadcasted. Both are in use, but broadcast is much more common, especially in the simple past but also as past participle. Google Books search gives 326,000 results for "was broadcast", vs. 12,900 for "was broadcasted". Also https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/broadcasted. Conclusion: Both are wrong, but thanks for pointing it out. I think these are solid sources where broadcasted can still be used, but I will use aired as cross referenced to all Singapore shows wikipedia as I am using Singapore English. I hope you can understand and thanks. Feel free to fix it if you want but it is 100% correct grammar, just less common. --Quek157 (talk) 16:51, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

The Opening Song and Ending Song

[edit]

I don't think the background song is from Guns N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle (as far as I remembered). I did some research and found the rock opening was sang by YB - The Law of the Jungle (Yoo Do-hyun Band). Any thoughts about this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sharazy (talkcontribs) 15:38, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
