Copyvio

[edit]

Article expanded by DM7 (talk · contribs) a year ago on 14 November 2006, adding a complete copy (wikified) of Prosper Ménière at Who Named It?. I've removed the copvio as per policy. Unless Ole Daniel Enersen, the owner/author of Whonamedit, has given specific permission to use the information, the material's copyright must be respected. Sources

A bibliography and very basic information can be found at BIUM. In addition, they have a portrait (JPG) which is dated 1903 so is out of copyright. Colin°Talk 13:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps someone who's read up on French/international copyright could upload it? Ijustam (talk) 20:26, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rename page?

[edit]

According to the French Wikipedia, the name of this person is not 'Prosper Ménière', but 'Prosper Menière' (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosper_Meni%C3%A8re). This was a French doctor, and I think they are probably right. There is a redirect page from 'Prosper Ménière' to 'Prosper Menière', which was created by BonifaceFR on 14 June 2014, with the comment "BonifaceFR a déplacé la page Prosper Ménière vers Prosper Menière par-dessus une redirection : typo. orthographe". This user has a quite impressive talk page, which suggests this is a heavy contributor to Wikipedia and probably trustworthy, also since no one reverted the creation of this redirect page. So I suggest we rename this page and Ménière's disease. Laurier (talk) 13:38, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see there are still a lot of edits where one editor changes the name of this person to 'Ménière' and some one else changes it back to 'Menière'. The name of this wikipedia page and the name of wikipedia page about the disease still isn't changed. No one responded to my post here. Can someone please convince me that the first 'e' should or shouldn't have an accent? Laurier (talk) 14:32, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest that you request a move of this page to "Prosper Menière" if you see fit to do so. Regarding not receiving any responses, this talk page has received 20 views in the past 12 months. Hrodvarsson (talk) 22:32, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
