Furqlus

Source only said that Syrian troops withdraw from the town on their checkpoints to eastern outskirts of Farqalas that would protect town and ISIS bombing attack on checkpoint at the eastern outskirts of the town of Furqlus. Source not said that ISIS take town. Also source said that the according to data from military source clashes between ISIS and Syrian troops at the outskirts of Furqlus, where the ISIS has currently staked their positions at the town’s eastern outskirts, while ISIS reinforcements arrive from the nearby village of Jabab Hamid located west of city of Palmyra. And that the Syrian troops to counter ISIS’ offensive at Farqalas have resumed their assault on the town of Jazal.Al Masdar So that source clear said that the Syrian troops came out of the town to strengthen their checkpoints on perimeter around the city and prevent infiltration ISIS to the city. SOHR and pro ISIS sources also said that ISIS bombing attack the gas pipeline on the road between the cities of Tadmur and Homs near Furqlas Gas Field, which is under regime control.SOHRherehere Hanibal911 (talk) 14:59, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And another report from SOHR said about clashes between Syrian troops and ISIS in the vicinity of Furqlus area in countryside east of Homs.SOHR And SOHR also not said that clashes in the town of Furqlus or thet the town was taken by ISIS. As SOHR earlier said clashes was near with gas pipeline to east from Furqlus. Hanibal911 (talk) 15:11, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And pro ISIS sources also just said that ISIS kills 4 elements of Assad's forces in an ambush east of the village of Furqlus.herehereherehere And not said that ISIS captured Furqlus. Only said that ISIS ambushed four soldiers and bombing attack on the gas pipeline on the road between the cities of Tadmur and Homs near Furqlas Gas Field. Hanibal911 (talk) 15:30, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
And also the author of the source Al Masdar only said about clashes on the outskirts of Furqlus.Leith Abou Fadel And as said other activist ISIS just blew up a gas pipeline and was the sporadic clashes between Syrian troops and ISIS in this area. This was not a deep organized attack.here Hanibal911 (talk) 15:52, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also source said that Syrian troops repelled attack ISIS at the checkpoint outside of the town of Furqlus and launched a counter-assault to push back the enemy combatants and then reinforce the Palmyra-Homs Highway between Farqalas and the Tiyas Military Airpor. And in addition to the firefights on the highway Palmyra-Homs, the Syrian troops and ISIS continued their battle for control of the Jazal Gas Fields and the village itself; if the former can capture this part of Homs, they will have effectively put themselves in position to launch a counter-offensive at Palmyra.Al Masdar So as I said yesterday ISIS only attack army position outside a town of Furqlus and never entered in the town and army repelled their attack on checkpoint to east from the town and counterattacked ISIS. YPG advance toward Tall Abyad

YPG and their allies advance against of ISIS east of Tall Abyad. Here a map from the kurdish sourceColdkurd Hanibal911 (talk) 20:39, 5 June 2015 (UTC) Okay i will update it.Alhanuty (talk) 20:52, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Zaid

Ok, so if developments in Tal Abyad and Ain Issa are occuring very fast I dont understand why you hurry up on changing the map icons (Well, I understand thats because your ideas, but remember that this is an encyclopaedia, and we should leave our POVs aside when we edit maps). Why not wait until reliable international outlets confirm it?.--HCPUNXKID 17:29, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They're trying to shut down the map

So it seems like some people are trying to either shut down the map or make it 'confirm rigorously to Wikipedia standards'. Which basically is code for no POV pushing, no amateur maps. I know you have tried to keep the map up to date with developments on the ground, and I think that's a good idea. I also am quite confident that there are FSA/YPG fighters present in Ayn Issa. What makes me angry is that people are reverting for example, Ayn Issa back to full ISIS control because, and I quote, "reverting POV vandalism edits, users breaking the rules constantly. admin is already informed".

And all of this with tons of people and twitter from pro-kurd and pro-opp sources saying they've captured it. https://mobile.twitter.com/search?q=ayn+issa Admittedly, there is a lack of reliable independent sources, but still. We should all be very careful and explain in detail why we made the edits we did; if we explain our reasoning, the higher-ups might be nicer to us. Do you have any thoughts? Pbfreespace3 (talk) 16:36, 16 June 2015 (UTC) leave it for now.Alhanuty (talk) 19:18, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SVG Maps

I would like to edit these .svg maps but i do somehow always stuck to a problem. After I'm finnished with editing, i want to save the .svg file, but it saves together with like 120 other files. I tryed to group them all inside the program, but still, the same problem, i get One file that i want and 120 other files which should be merged with that big one but they aren't. What do you think ? Aleppo military research center is contested not green

Which sources are you mentioning? I mean, removing pro-rebels. The change on the map was done using twitter sources. On the main talk page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Cities_and_towns_during_the_Syrian_Civil_War#Aleppo_Research_Center it was reached a consensus that it is contested.Paolowalter (talk) 21:54, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
