I'm Back. Again, this is an expressed apology to all those offended by my actions.

{{unblock|I've been away from Wikipedia for quite a while, and during that time, I had no interest in appealing this block. However, I have realized that I miss it more than I thought and I wish to be unblocked. Obviously, I have committed some horrible actions, and my chances of returning are very slim. If this request is denied, I will understand completely.}}

Comment on requested unblock by The Hybrid While he was on Wikipedia, Mike was one of my best friends (we still maintain off-wiki contact to a certain degree), and a great contributor other than the copyvios. I would love to see him unblocked. If he is, I will make sure that if he doesn't abstain from image uploads, which I would recommend that he do, that all of his copyright claims are verified. I am friends with User:Metros, an admin who has had great success dealing with copyright violations in the past, and User:Caribbean H.Q., who has admin contacts on Commons. I would make sure he doesn't violate copyrights anymore, and if he did I would report him to ANI. After he was blocked I was the first of his friends to condemn what he did, and we didn't speak for some time afterwards. The Hybrid T/C 01:12, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I am unblocking you on the recognizance of an established editor because everybody deserves a second chance after reforming, and it appears that only one admin persistently blocked you. Please be mindful of copyright policy in the future, and don't embarass the people that have vouched for you.

Welcome Back!

[edit]

It's great to have you back, Mike! I'm declaring you my wingman :P. User:Bmg916 is my featherman, and User:Atomic Religione is my hairman. Anyway, I'm absolutely elated to have you back on the wiki. A lot has changed since you left 8 months ago. WP:PW is a different project now, and I think that you will like how things are. It will be a bit awkward for the first few months, as a new breed of editors has replaced the old guard, but you can count on my support, and with how good you are you shouldn't have any trouble reestablishing yourself as one of the project's top editors. Cheers,

Honestly, most of the old WP:PW guys are gone. The only ones here who I know would know you are myself, TJ Spyke, 3bulletproof16, Bmg916, and Bdve. I don't think that anyone will hold this against you, and if anyone tries to hold it over your head I'll step in. You should be able to achieve the reputation you had before, and then some after a short amount of time. It's really great to have you back :). Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 22:40, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and the Editor for deletion thing is just a joke :P. Peace, The Hybrid T/C 22:41, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, yeah, I've mostly just expanded on DLord's original design, while adding a few things I've copied from here and there. I've got some stories from when you were gone that I think you'll enjoy. Were you here for Big Boss 0? The Hybrid T/C 23:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DXRAW retired a while back. He was eventually vindicated of all sock puppet allegations, but eventually he just got sick of it and left. He even invoked his right to disappear; sad, as I kind of liked him. As far as BB0 goes, he eventually went crazy. Apparently he tried to use Wikipedia as a battleground for some real life yugioh shit (WTF?). It took a while, but eventually he was blocked, and a couple of his friends with dynamic IPs left a couple months later, ending their torment of User:Metros. BB0 just got blocked on the yugioh wikia for pulling the same shit there, giving me an excuse to block him on the pro-wrestling wikia. It looks like everything is over with him now, finally. It was funnier while it was happening. The Hybrid T/C 00:04, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what to make of Yamla. I've left her several messages during various incidents, and I've never received a reply even once. She's still around, however. Anyway, a lot of people have retired, some I probably didn't even notice. This is a completely different group than it was before, aside from the people I've already mentioned. The Hybrid T/C 00:09, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL, we'll see. And yeah, I forget how I found out that Yamla is a girl. I saw someone mention it a while back, I guess. Yeah, I've slowly tried to phase out the strictness that was here before. The admins have ind of backed off from the project thanks in no small part to the now retired User:Moe Epsilon, and things are pretty informal now. The Hybrid T/C 00:21, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I said (basically :P), but apparently he actually isn't coming back this time. It was real life again, I guess. The Hybrid T/C 00:25, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could it be the legendary Mike? Greetings I am Hybrids humble "hairman", I must pay my respsct to my superior "wingman". Nice to meet you, heard a lot of things about you, its like meeting the Wikipedia wrestling section equivenlent of Elvis (He's still out there they say...), anyways nice to meet you and godspeed. Atomic Religione 01:01, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite to long, it's good to have ya back Mike. I'm proud to say WP:PW has really taken off since you were last on. Started back in April when I just got fed up with us being trashed and sourced the holy hell out of the John Cena article (I'm talking down to the last freakin' detail...) Welcome back, friend, glad you are here again. :-). Bmg916Speak 22:56, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration of the Week

The Pro Wrestling Collaboration of the Week for November 11 - November 17 is World Wrestling Entertainment. Please help to improve it to match the quality of an ideal Wikipedia professional wrestling related article. The next article for collaboration will be chosen on Sunday, November 18.
Cast your vote to select the collaboration for next week!Nominate an article that could be greatly improved!

From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

RE from The Hybrid

[edit]

It's your username, so whatever you want, just so long as I can keep calling you Mike ;). Anyway, nothing is really up with me. I'm enjoying a nice bowl of nachos right now. What's up with you? The Hybrid T/C 01:41, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Burritos for me today (I love living in a border state ;) - Now if only we could do something about the crime rate...). Anyway, I'm elated that Y2J is back. I think that we can count on the main events being of a much higher quality. I'm not taking anything away from HBK, but he is injured, so he isn't working at the rate he usually does. It's too bad Cena had to get injured; HBK really needs a rest, as this is dangerous. As far as your username goes, go with whatever you think will be the best. I'm going to be semi-active for a little bit. I will be checking my talk page, but I may reply in email form. Feel free to reply to the mail on my talk page, but I'm not really interested in editing right now. I go through my stages. If anyone with vampire in their username edits my talk page, revert them, would you? Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 23:35, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Orton

The era of Orton being the WWE Champion being referred to as 'One-man dynasty'. Not a nickname. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Think of it as HBK's era as the 'Boyhood dream'. (Referring to when he won the WWE title back in '96). As to Orton's dynasty (meaning his time as the WWE Champion). That's what it means. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well they refer to him as "his time" (one man dynasty). Not a nickname. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 21:25, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...For the barnstar, man, and good choice of username. It isn't anything too radical, like you said, but it is a change, and it's easy to remember. It sucks that you had to get sick. That isn't ever fun, especially during the flu season when it weakens you, making you more susceptible to other infections. Anyway, I haven't been up to much lately. A banned user here has been editing on the Pro Wrestling Wikia, so I've been keeping an eye on that place. Other than that, however, I haven't really been doing anything. I'm being lazy in real life as well. I guess that I just don't have much energy anymore. Oh well, the holidays are supposed to be a lazy time anyway. Also, I think that you deserve a barnstar as well. Peace, The Hybrid T/C 05:44, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Resilient Barnstar
I award you this barnstar for coming back from a series of blocks swinging. Since your unblock you are a great editor, improving the quality of the mainspace, and participating in discussions with a calm head. I don't know of many people who can come back from a event like that in the way that you have. You are truly resilient, Mike. The Hybrid T/C 05:44, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well the username's nice, but I still liked User:Mikediscoolerthenyoubecauseheisawesome, andyouarelikenevergonnabeasawesomeashimsostoptryingbecauseheistotallybetterthenyou better, but thats just me..... Atomic Religione (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry about not replying for so long. I kept putting it off, and then it got archived, so I didn't remember until just now. Once again, so sorry about that. Yeah, Atomic is pretty over the top sometimes, but he knows that, and that's what makes him fun to have around, IMHO. So, how's life been, Mike? The Hybrid T/C 03:30, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't take it that way, Mike; you know that I enjoy talking to you. I'm really busy in real life, between buying Christmas gifts and trying to help my sister-in-law prepare to have the family over for Christmas in addition to my standard real life responsibilities. When I get home I'm quite tired, so if I don't sit down at the computer first I probably won't be there for several hours, and then not for more than a few minutes at a time. I'm sorry if I said it the wrong way before. As far as your Wiki-crossroads is concerned, the thing is, you kind of have to start over again. You were gone for a very long time, and Wikipedia is a place that wears on the nerves, as we both know. As a result, the guard that we were a part of is mostly gone, as you noticed, and you missed a whole other one in between, even. Due to this, your name is unfamiliar to many, and those that do know you, as you've noticed once again, remember how you left more than who you were. As a result, you're basically a new user, except that you have over 8000 edits and know what the hell you're doing :P. However, I've given you my stamp of approval, which is the most likely reason for users such as Atomic and Chronic to stop by to say hi. You have a true second chance here, but it is just that; you have to start all over again. If you don't want to do that, then I completely understand, as establishing yourself the first time is hard enough. Do keep in mind that I'm a casual editor as well; I only make a very small number of edits each day. Being a casual editor isn't a crime. In fact, it helps to prevent the stress this place often brings. If there are disputes, then you can pull "drive by" comments, and be on your merry way, allowing the newer and livelier users who feel like they need to make a name themselves to expand on the points you made. There are any number of things that you can do. However, if you do choose to retire, I will completely understand and respect your decision, though I won't be happy about it. If you do, I would like you to pop in every now and again to keep the place lively ;). Cheers, The Hybrid T/C 05:54, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Hey

Well, all in all things are pretty good. I still have a bit of a headache from a party I hit yesterday, but other than that... It's sock season on the wiki again. JB196 is back, and two users, the names of which have yet to be announced, have been found to be sockpuppeteers imitating another sockpuppeteer. But, anyways, life has been pretty fun lately. I'm tired from all of it, but what can I say. Work is stressful, but I'm hoping to put an end to that in the near future. It's good to hear from you; how've you been yourself, Mike? Hey! Long Time to see. How you been? Listen, I need you to go to Lance Cade's discussion page. There is a big controveristy and there is a Unknown User. He is fliping out on some of the users who have been working on it. He claimed to be Lance Cade, but some of the users want to know the truth. Plus this user just invaded my discussion page and he didn't say anything at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LindsieandLance (talkcontribs) 08:50, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Saw October 2008 Newsletter

[edit]

The WikiProject Saw Newsletter
Issue IV - October 2008
Member news
  • The project has currently 29 members.
From the Members

Welcome to the fourth issue of the WikiProject Saw's newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.

Another year, and another Saw. The penultimate(?) entry to the series, Saw V, will becoming out in less than two weeks.

We would encourage all members to get more involved and if you are wondering what with, please ask. CyberGhostface 18:17, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pages Needing Cleanup
Monthly Collaboration
  • Perhaps for the remainder of this month (and the next couple of ones) we can work on Saw V's article. I have a feeling once the film comes out the page will be filled to the brim with information, a lot of which could be trimmed. The other film articles could use some work as well.
Newsletter Challange
  • Important Right now the biggest challenge is to save List of traps in the Saw film series from deletion. There are two things that can be done. First you can go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of traps in the Saw film series (3rd nomination) and voice your argument as to why it should be kept. Important: read over Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions. Saying stuff like "Saw rules, it should be kept" will not help at all. Just as important: improving the article so it has a fighting chance. I.E. Focus less on plot of the films but more "real world" information...I.E. the traps' impact on popular culture, reception they may have received, cited comparisions and allusions to actual devices (just pulling comparisions out of thin air would be original research.
  • Try to make the character articles more encyclopedic by making them less in-universe. See Jigsaw and Amanda's articles for guidance. Also see Jason Voorhees, which is a featured article. (Obviously there is more information on Jason available than the Saw characters, but it is worth looking at to see what's considered the best of the best.) Because of the nature of the series, poorly written articles could be considered 'deletion-bait' and 'cruft'...the better written the articles, the less likely this would happen.
  • Some of the plot articles seem to be overtly long. Without bowdlerizing them, maybe we could try to make them a bit shorter and concise.
  • Try to invite more members to this project. If you know any Saw fans who are good with computers, invite them to Wikipedia. The more the merrier.

Nomination of Team McMahon for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Team McMahon is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Team McMahon until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Feedback 05:35, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Superstar (Saliva song)

[edit]

The article Superstar (Saliva song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:Leatherface1974.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Leatherface1974.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:31, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
