Help

[edit]

Greeting! I am from a Serbian Wikipedia and I need help on making an article about Serbian actress and journalist. The page is here. Because I'm not Autoconfirmed, I can not move the page and link it to a page in Serbian Wikipedia. Thank you. Serbian Nickmen (talk) 11:17, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your submission! Since I haven't done a draft review before, I looked around to see what the normal procedure for doing that is. Wikipedia:Drafts#Publishing_a_draft lead me to Wikipedia:Requested_moves#When_not_to_use_this_page which says to add {{subst:submit}} to the top of the draft. I did that, so it looks like it's in the review queue now. -- Beland (talk) 14:50, 3 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your concerns

[edit]

Hello! Since you already know that I rejected your Draft:Jadranka Pejanović, I think you need some help. You will have to include references from reliable sources such as news. I tried to do google search about the subject and found out that there were some news sources available. But since they are in another language, I couldn't understand them. However, if you understand them, you can add them into your draft :-) If you need more help regarding that draft or any other editing, you can always leave a message at my talk page and I will be more than happy to help you. Jadranka Pejanović history merge

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Jadranka Pejanović a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Jadranka Pejanović. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
