Etymology

[edit]

Uncertain constituent words, which were deformed. Dozy sees *سیاه داوران (*siyāh-i dāwarān, black [habit of] judges), Corriente or his ghostwriters in the same a reinterpretation of *سیاه درون (*siyāh-i darūn, black insides). We may suspect instead that the present plant name preserves some word’s unattested byform as is recognized for پرسیاوشان (parsiyāwušān).
