HGTV's Christina Hall reacts to ex Josh Hall's social media return amid lawsuit alleging he took $35K from her

HGTV's Christina Hall is speaking out amid her contentious divorce and a lawsuit she filed accusing her ex of taking $35,000 from her.

On Thursday, she seemed to respond via her Instagram Stories to her estranged husband, Josh Hall, who shared footage of himself walking through the woods, to which he added a prayer emoji.

The video marked Josh Hall's return to social media following the couple's split this month. The two married in 2021 and were filming their upcoming HGTV reality competition series, The Flip Off, but they filed for divorce this month.

She wrote on her own account, in part, "I have worked my ass off to build this life for myself and my children, and anyone who would try and take what they do not deserve/what they did NOT work for should be ashamed."

Hall also called her ex "an insecure man with a large ego."

The Christina on the Coast star added, "For those that aren't aware... divorces do not happen overnight & there is always a breaking point. This one is personal."

Hall recently filed a lawsuit accusing her ex of having diverted "over $35,000 of my separate property rental income to his account," according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly.

She said the income came from a rental property in Tennessee, adding in the documents, "I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me, as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties." She also accused him of withholding funds for another property that she is renovating.

Hall further claims that her ex made an unscheduled visit to the home to pick up certain items and plugged in security cameras she had disabled.

"Josh's attorney sent a letter demanding that I preserve electronic evidence without it being automatically deleted, so I unplugged cameras so the system would not automatically overwrite the hard drive," she said. "Each time Josh has returned to the house, he has plugged the cameras back in, which would allow him to keep me and my children under surveillance. I object to him having that access into my home."

Josh Hall, via HGTV, did not respond to EW's request for comment. ET reports that he has denied any wrongdoing.

The union was her third. She was previously married to Celebrity IOU: Joyride host Ant Anstead and her former Flip or Flop cohost Tarek El Moussa.

The Halls, El Moussa, and his new wife, Selling Sunset alum Heather Rae El Moussa, announced in May that they would star in The Flip Off, but the future of that project is unclear following the Halls' split. Sources tell PEOPLE that Christina Hall is back to filming.
