Cobra Kai stars promise final episodes will bring 'closure,' 'crazy' fight scenes… and 'death'?

Xolo Maridueña and Jacob Bertrand are teasing what to expect when the "Karate Kid" sequel series comes to a close.

Cobra Kai is getting ready to wax off for the last time — and the stars of the Karate Kid spinoff series promise that it will go out with a bang.

While stopping by Entertainment Weekly's video studio at Comic-Con 2024, stars Xolo Maridueña and Jacob Bertrand offered a few tantalizing hints about what to expect in the final episodes, which will arrive with season 6, part 2, on Nov. 15 and part 3 sometime in 2025.

Bertrand, who plays outcast-turned-karate-champ Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz, dropped a potential bombshell when asked what fans can look forward to as the show wraps up (though he may have been pulling everyone's leg).

"Death!" he said gravely.

"I don't know if he's joking," said Maridueña, who plays protagonist Miguel Diaz. But, he added, "You can expect closure, for sure. I don't want people to think it's one of those [shows] that's like, 'It's over, but…' I'm so happy that our creators found true endings for a lot of our characters. And of course you can always bring them back, but our show, there's so much torture, there's always so much to work through and so much friction, so to get to finally wrap up on a great note was happy."

As for the upcoming fight scenes, Bertrand teased that they're "crazy," while Maridueña said everyone "brought their A-game."

"We just had Brandon Lee here at Comic-Con as well and he's one of our new cast members, and he's almost better than some of the stunt people," Maridueña marveled.

"He's also a national taekwondo champion," Bertrand noted. "The man can kick the moon."

But while filming the final episodes involved some serious martial arts action, it wasn't all work and no play.

"We threw a rager at the Miyagi-Do house," Maridueña revealed. "We went overnight and snuck into the Miyagi-Do house and threw a little party."

Reflecting on what it was like wrapping the show and saying goodbye to the world of Cobra Kai, Maridueña mused, "It feels like you're graduating. It really feels like you have these friends that you grew up with for at this point almost seven years now, and you all are heading off to different colleges, but you made some lifelong friends and I hope we get to reunite with them."

Part 1 of Cobra Kai season 6 is currently streaming on Netflix. Watch the video above for more from Maridueña and Bertrand.
