Drag Race star Kennedy Davenport reveals partner had miscarriage: 'Thank you all for the love'

Kennedy announced the news one day after "Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World" footage showed her telling contestants that her partner was expecting.

One day after RuPaul's Drag Race icon Kennedy Davenport revealed on the Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World season 2 premiere that she and her partner were expecting their first child together, the drag superstar revealed that the couple lost the baby while the entertainer was away filming the show.

Kennedy shared the news Saturday morning on social media in an effort to be "transparent to my friends, my fans, and community" before heading into the second day of RuPaul's DragCon in Los Angeles.

"As you know when filming anything [Drag Race–related] you are not in touch with [the] outside world and your phones are taken until you are finished filming," Kennedy wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her and her partner. "Unfortunately, while I was filming Messia Adonís and I miscarried. This was back in March."

"Now we are in a good head space to talk and share," Kennedy continued. "We both understand that God makes no mistakes and we understand what he has for us, will be for us. We both live our lives to be a testament for others to help, elevate, motivate, and encourage. I want to thank you all for the love and support that you have shown thus far. Continue to put God first and have an awesome day. We are good."

On Friday's premiere of the second Canada vs. the World installment — Kennedy's third overall season as a competitor, following season 7 and All Stars 3 — the skilled Texas dancer told her fellow queens that she was going to be a parent while the stars got ready to hit the Main Stage.

"I just won another pageant, and I just got into a relationship. He's a trans man. He's awesome and a great supporter, and us girls, that's all we really want in this lifetime," Kennedy told her sisters, before elaborating in a confessional that this is her first relationship in which she hasn't "felt taken advantage of" and is genuinely happy.

"And he's expecting!" Kennedy said, while her peers — including season 3, All Stars 1, and All Stars 5 queen Alexis Mateo — celebrated.

"We're going to be aunties!" Alexis exclaimed.

Later in another confessional, Kennedy said the development gave her extra confidence heading into another season.

"It's giving me motivation to win this $100,000," Kennedy said. "Because I have an addition to this family!"

Kennedy has appeared in other television projects, including on an episode of Skin Wars and as a guest star opposite RuPaul on the Netflix comedy series AJ and the Queen.
