Rogue One Details Revealed in New Toys

Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT playset

Even more Star Wars-themed toys have been revealed for Rogue One, and in some of them include new details about the Dec. 16 movie. This Nerf-rocket launching “Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT” playset from Hasbro — retailing for $299.99 (better be good, kids) — includes the new stealth-hued Imperial droid C2-B5. Think of it as kind of an evil R2-D2, the first of this type we’ve seen in a Star Wars movie. It also includes a cargo transport driver, along with a 3.75-inch Jyn Erso. Imperial Ground Crew

When the first Rogue One trailer dropped back in April, there was considerable debate over the type of soldier that Jyn Erso was impersonating in the final shot, when she is garbed in a black uniform inside an Imperial hallway. Death Star Gunner? TIE Fighter pilot? Now we have the answer, by way of this action figure – a member of the Imperial Ground Crew. That’s the exact same uniform she is seen wearing, complete with batons sticking out the back. Most likely, this is a worker-drone, coordinating the construction of the Death Star from the surface of Scarif.

Scarif Shoretrooper and Moroff

In the behind-the-scenes video for Rogue One, previewed at the Celebration fan gathering in July, we saw a large, white, wooly-furred creature emerging from a cavern. He (or she?) is strapped with gear, so it’s a civilized alien being, rather than a wild creature, like a Wampa. Now this Hasbro playset (retailing for $14.99) reveals that this Rebel-friendly creature is named Moroff, although we don’t know any more – except that it could probably beat this Scarif Shoretrooper in a fight.

Rebel Commando Pao and Imperial Deathtrooper

Another Hasbro two-pack (again retailing for $14.99). The main revelation here is that the big-mouthed Rebel infantry soldier, named Pao, is ranked as a commando. He is included in the set with a black-onyx-colored Deathtrooper.

K-2SO

One of the stand-alone figures from Rogue One, a towering former Imperial security droid named K-2SO (played in the film by Alan Tudyk.) He's a brusque, but decent-natured robot who has allied himself with the Rebels after being stolen from the Empire. It sells for $7.99. Imperial Assault Hovertank

Here's the Imperial Assault Hovertank, seen hovering through the streets of the Force-sacred world of Jedha. It includes Tank Troopers and a minifg Chirrut Imwe, the blind warrior-monk played by Donnie Yen. It retails for $29.99.

TIE Striker

The Fang-winged TIE Striker set sells for $69.99, and includes four figures — though the fight is 3-to-1 against the Rebels. Among the Imperials: a pilot, a ground crew worker, and a Shoretrooper, who will face down a single, lowly Rebel infantry minifig.

Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle

Director Krennic (played by Ben Mendelsohn in the film) gets the priciest ride among the new LEGO Star Wars toys. His Imperial Shuttle sells for $89.99 and includes two Deathtroopers, and the Rebels Bodhi Rook (played by Riz Ahmed), Commando Pao, and K-2SO (Alan Tudyk).

AT-ST Walker

The familiar two-legged AT-ST Walker sells for $39.99 and includes an Imperial driver, a Rebel soldier, and heavy-artillery warrior Baze Malbus (played by Jiang Wen in the film).
