Joseph Quinn reveals the 'f---ing stupid' thing he did when he met Taylor Swift

"You're Taylor Swift," the "Stranger Things" actor said.

Stars getting starstruck, too? Stranger things have happened.

A Quiet Place: Day One star Joseph Quinn is opening up about the mortifying, but relatable, moment when he met Taylor Swift for the first time. The Stranger Things actor recalled the "cringe" encounter during Monday's episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, when he was asked if he's had any embarrassing moments since becoming famous.

"I met Taylor Swift once, and I said, 'You're Taylor Swift.' She was very funny," Quinn explained to host Josh Horowitz. "She said something nice about like the show [Stranger Things], and I said, 'Oh, thanks. You're Taylor Swift.' I meant it as a compliment."

When Horowitz laughed and pointed out that it is a compliment, Quinn continued, "It's definitely a compliment, and I remember thinking like, That was f---ing stupid. But she was very good-humored about it."

So much so, apparently, that Quinn joked that he'd be featured on one of her future albums. "We are just trying to figure it out," he quipped, even though he admitted Swift has not "reached out" about such a thing.

Quinn didn't explicitly state where or how he met the pop star, but they have a mutual connection in Sadie Sink. Quinn, who played fan-favorite Eddie Munson in season 4 of Stranger Things, starred alongside Sink, who plays Max on the hit show. Sink, in turn, starred in Swift's self-directed short film for "All Too Well."

Sink made such an impression on Swift, in fact, that the 14-time Grammy winner penned a tribute to Sink as part of Entertainment Weekly's 2022 Entertainers of the Year honors, writing in part: "She is a force to watch and a pleasure to know. I'll continue to feel just as lucky to watch from afar as she lights up the screen, tells new stories, and shows us new sides of herself: multifaceted and brilliant, dark and unhinged, twinkly and full of promise. This artist contains multitudes, and we get to look on as she courageously unveils them. Everyone say, 'Thank you, Sadie.'"
