Christopher Reeve's son Will Reeve confirms Superman cameo: 'They've been so kind to me and my family'

Will is a correspondent for "ABC News," which jives well with Clark Kent's "Daily Planet" reporter vibe.

James Gunn's Superman movie is planning to pay tribute to the legacy of Christopher Reeve with at least one special cameo.

Will Reeve, the son of the late Man of Steel actor who's also involved in his father's Super/Man documentary, confirms he will appear in the movie, which is set for 2025. Cleveland.com first published photos from the set on location in the Ohio city that revealed Reeve's role as a reporter during a crowd scene.

"I know the folks making the film, and they've been so kind to me and my family, and I had a free day so we made it [happen]," Reeve told TMZ in an on-the-street interview.

EW reached out to reps for Warner Bros. for comment.

Reeve also happens to work as a newsman in real life as a correspondent for ABC News and Good Morning America, which itself is a connection to Superman's secret identity, The Daily Planet journalist Clark Kent.

"I don't know what I'm allowed to say," Reeve continued, before teasing, "It was a really great experience; they were super friendly; it was quick, easy...I was actually more nervous doing that than I am whenever I'm on TV for my normal job cuz there was so many people around and I had to memorize one line, but still!"

Superman is set to hit theaters next year on July 11, 2025, but Reeve will first be seen on screen with his older siblings Matthew and Alexandra in Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, a sentimental documentary about the life of Hollywood's beloved Superman actor. Reeve appeared as DC's Man of Steel across four films but was later paralyzed from the neck down after being thrown from a horse.

The film from Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

Gunn's Superman, meanwhile, is meant as the anchor to a new era of connected DC Comics-based movies and TV series. It will star David Corenswet as Kal-El, who's struggling to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage and identity as Superman with his small-town upbringing as Clark Kent from Smallville.

Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult will appear opposite Corenswet as ace Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane and Superman archenemy Lex Luthor. The cast will also include Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as the Earth-based Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.
