I build my expertise from the technical ground to be able to use the knowledge at various levels, be it explaining the topic to the C-level or deep diving to technical details or troubleshooting with the engineers.

I currently work as a Technical Lead (Lead Cloud Architect) in our Public Cloud unit on all the three hyperscale cloud platforms, GCP, AWS and Azure for large enterprise customers. My preferences are the cloud native technologies, serverless and containers (kubernetes), scalable architectures, and using cloud identities, policies and roles for secure cloud environment.
Recently I have been focusing on public cloud but have strong background in private (OpenStack) and hybrid (AWS, Azure) clouds as well.

I'm a strong, determined advocate for automated deployments and Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform but not ruling out e.g. Pulumi. Huge fan of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model but as always, not everyone is Google so I like to read between the lines and see what could be applied.

I'm familiar with the common software developer practises although I do not consider myself a software developer. For any tooling, containers or serverless functions I use golang. I'm fluent with Linux and prefer Mac.

Today I'm all about the cloud.

In the past I was the founder and network operations director for the first commercial ISP in Finland. We brought the commercial Internet to Finland and established the first links to both Estonia and Russia. EUnet was also responsible for the .fi top-level domain and Finnish Commercial Internet Exchange.

I worked at Ascend Communications (Lucent Technologies) to establish the sales and support office in Finland. It was a great experience to work for an US company and to learn to communicate between the customers and product development.

I was the co-founder and CTO for a startup that brought the Finnish event, daycare and school photography into the Internet age with distributed, all-digital processes. The company was acquired by one of the leading school photography companies and the technology is now used across the country.

I have travelled to some 100+ countries including Antarctica. I am interested to see how people do things differently and to learn from the different cultures. In travel you learn without studying.
