Chris Hyams

Chris Hyams is CEO and a board director of Indeed. He joined Indeed in 2010 as vice president of product, responsible for technology strategy and innovation. In 2015, he became president, assuming additional responsibility for Indeed’s revenue growth and client success. He was appointed Indeed CEO in 2019, leading Indeed’s mission to help people get jobs. Mr. Hyams is a board member at DivInc, a technology accelerator whose mission is to generate social and economic equity through entrepreneurship, and at Huston-Tillotson University, an Historically Black University and Austin’s oldest institution of higher learning. Mr. Hyams started his career working in adolescent addiction recovery, and then as a high school special education teacher in the Vermont public school system. After working as a musician in Los Angeles, he went back to school to study computer science. He worked as a software engineer, and later became vice president of engineering at Trilogy Software. Prior to Indeed, he was founder and CEO of B-Side, a technology platform for independent film analytics, marketing, and distribution. Mr. Hyams earned an AB degree in architecture from Princeton University and a master’s degree in computer science from Rice University.
