Addison Rae

At the time of this writing, Addison Rae has 84.5 million followers on TikTok, and she’ll probably have gained thousands more by the time you read this. The 21-year-old, who began dancing competitively at age 6 in her Louisiana hometown of Lafayette, started posting dance videos to trending songs on TikTok in 2019. She joined the TikTok collaboration incubator Hype House a few months later, and her popularity skyrocketed. Now she’s dancing like everyone is watching—she’s the third-most-followed person on the platform. But while she may not be the most popular in terms of followers, she’s the highest earner, per Forbes in 2020. While some creators focus solely on growing their follower base, Rae has set her sights beyond the confines of the app: She signed with talent agency WME in January 2020; has partnered with brands such as Reebok, American Eagle, and L’Oréal; and now has her own podcast, cosmetics line, and her first single, “Obsessed.” Rae’s sights, however, seem to be firmly fixed on the big(ger) screen. She recently starred in the Netflix original film He’s All That, a remake of the 1999 teen comedy She’s All That, and has signed a multipicture film deal with the streaming company.
