The previous offer was an already-generous 100,000 points after spending $8,000 in the first three months after account opening.  What makes this new bonus of up to 120,000 points even more impressive is that the Chase Ultimate Rewards® earned on the Ink Business Preferred card can be redeemed at a value of 1.25 cents per point when used to book travel through Chase, a 25% increase over taking your rewards as cash back. This means those who meet the card’s minimum spending requirement can either earn $1,200 in cash back or use their haul to book $1,500 worth of travel through Chase.

But this big catch carries even more weight if you strategically transfer those points to one of the issuer’s travel transfer partners. Part of the appeal of flexible rewards like Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program is that you can directly transfer the points, usually at a 1:1 ratio, into the loyalty accounts of any of Chase’s 11 airline and three hotel partners. This can mean travel redemptions are potentially worth even more than the 25% bonus you can get by booking through Chase.

For example, you can transfer 116,000 of those points to Air Canada’s Aeroplan, a Chase transfer partner, and fly business class one-way from San Diego to Montreal and ski Mont Tremblant in December 2024.

That ticket would cost over $1,800 if you paid cash, or roughly 135,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards with the 25% increase in value since booking through Chase Travel is tied to the cash price of a ticket.

As generous as the card’s amplified welcome offer is, it’s important to know that beyond that shimmering bonus, the Ink Business Preferred is an excellent card for small business owners. For an annual fee of $95 the card earns 3x points per $1 (up to $150,000 combined) spent on purchases like shipping purchases, internet, cable, phone, and advertising and 1x point per $1 spent on all other purchases. Plus, through March 25, 2024, earn 5x total points per $1 on Lyft. Businesses who typically spend in those areas will find the annual fee well worth it, especially if they’re looking to earn rewards to use for travel. The bonus on the Ink Business Preferred card is now the best it’s ever been, so if you think the card is right for you, there’s never been a better time to apply.
