An exciting 55th La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec 2024. 37 skippers set off on August 25 on the first stage of the legendary Solitaire du Figaro Paprec single-handed race from Rouen to Gijón in Spain. For this year’s event, BENETEAU is continuing its partnership as official race supplier, and showcasing new talent with the BENETEAU rookie ranking. On Thursday 29 August, Loïs Berrehar (Skipper Macif 2022) won in an airless finish at the end of this first stage. Basile Bourgnon (Edenred) took second place on the podium, closely followed by rookie Jules Ducelier (Région Normandie). The second stage kicked off on 1 September from Gijón. Figaro BENETEAU: a retrospective on an extraordinary adventure The highly innovative Figaro BENETEAU 1 was launched by BENETEAU in 1990 for the Solitaire Le Figaro single-handed race, in collaboration with Groupe Finot, and it blazed a trail for a whole generation of sailors racing on an equal footing. The success story of this model continued in 2003 with the creation of the Figaro BENETEAU 2 by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group's design office. Similar to its predecessor, the boat was instrumental in developing the skills of young sailors in professional single-handed or crewed offshore racing. Real racing machines, today, the 3rd generation of Figaro yachts are competing in highly competitive races. La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec is a renowned one-design ocean race, in which over thirty skippers battle it out off the French coast. Oceanis Med 2024: a successful eighth edition Since 2013, the owners of 30- to 60-foot Oceanis cruising yachts have been meeting up for a weekend in the company of friends. Delighted to be associated with this initiative, BENETEAU was once again a partner of the 2024 event, which took place last June on the beautiful island of Porquerolles. 200 participants enjoyed an exciting programme with a mix of parades at sea, relaxation time and regattas.
