Based in Paris, Carmine reports to Olivier Laplénie, Head of Quant Portfolio Management. With extensive experience in systematic and responsible investment solutions, Carmine is a recognised figure in the field of quantitative finance, regularly speaking at industry conferences and contributing to financial researching papers. His recent research topics have focused on sustainability, applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence in finance, Bayesian learning and portfolio construction under uncertainty. BNP Paribas Asset Management announces the final close of its SME debt fund III, with EUR 741 million, above the initial target of EUR 600 million. This fund finances Small and Medium sized Enterprises and Mid-cap companies in Continental Europe in the form of secured bullet loans. Since its creation in 2016, BNPP AM’s private debt activity helped more than 250 companies develop their business with more than EUR 1.7 billion deployed. This third vintage has won the confidence of around twenty institutional investors from six different countries, including insurers, pension funds, asset managers and intergovernmental organizations. This success consolidates BNP Paribas Asset Management's position in the dynamic corporate private credit market. With five recent fund launches, BNP Paribas Asset Management expands its fixed maturity range on both active and passive. Fixed Maturity Products (‘FMPs’) are diversified portfolios composed of bonds with similar maturity dates and possibly other debt securities. They are designed to provide investors visibility on the estimated yield to maturity. The portfolio typically has a short to medium-term maturity such as three or five years, depending on the investment horizon. BNP Paribas Asset Management announced today that its BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund reached its minimum target size of €150m in July 2024. About this milestone, David Bouchoucha, Head of Private Assets at BNPP AM, comments: “BNPP SIVF’s successful closing is evidence of the strong interest of our client investors to actively contribute to tackling climate change, fully aligned with the long-standing commitment of BNP Paribas to support young and innovative cleantech companies.
