A woman is facing assault charges after injuring an officer while attempting to prevent a tow truck from taking a vehicle. 

On Friday at approximately 2:11 p.m., officers with the Gold Hill Division were dispatched to the 300 block of South 8th Street regarding a disturbance.

Officers made contact with a woman interfering with a tow truck driver. Police report she was climbing on the truck, preventing it from towing the vehicle.

Officers attempted to talk the individual down but report that they were "forced" to remove her from the truck.

During the removal, the woman assaulted an officer before being taken into custody. The officer was treated and released at a local hospital for cuts and bruises on his arm.

The woman, identified as Angelic Bully, was charged with second-degree assault for injuring the officer, as well as several other charges related to interfering with the tow truck.
