Why We Built The All Around 60L Duffel

We designed the All Around 60L Duffel to handle cross-country road trips, airport bag handlers, and all our pursuits along the way. The two mesh lid pockets keep our smaller essentials from getting lost in the fray, while the built-in dry bag keeps our sweat-logged running clothes from infecting tomorrow's bike kit. With a newly padded base, this duffel helps protect our finer gear—watch, GPS, mini bar stash—from the jostles and slams of travel.

Burly duffel bag

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
60l

Durable construction. Not lightweight. I like the separate compartment for dirty/wet clothes or shoes on one side and there's enough pockets to keep small things organized. Not your typical nylon fabric- expect this to hold up well. I'm using for DH MTB helmet and pads, etc. and its plenty big enough.

Great bag!

Familiarity:

Seems durable enough so far and I really like the smaller pockets in the top flap for organizing smaller items that usually float around in large duffle bags. Most likely will buy another one!

Don’t use the straps for a backpack

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

The size is good and fits things well with multiply compartments but when you go to travel with these back country duffels don’t wear them on your back the straps tear into your shoulders

Excellent product!

These bags were great for our road trip across the middle states and in and out of national parks! Super impressed with the room available and pack ability into the car. I liked these bags better than the Patagonia one I have of the same size! My kids kept all their stuff in one place and could carry them in and out of hotels like a backpack! Perfect!

Almost as Good as Patagonia

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I had the Patagonia black hole duffel for over 10 years and loved it. It held up for every single trip I ever went on. Great for a weekend but also would use it internationally for weeks. The backcountry bag looked like it would be a better version of the patagonia due to some key features. I really like the large separate end pocket for dirty clothes or shoes. The cinch straps on the sides also work really well. Even with these nice features there are a couple reasons why I'd choose to stay with my old trusty patagonia. The backpack straps on this bag are awful. The top are adjustable but they just end up loosening as you wear and become very uncomfortable. The durability of this bag seems majorly lacking too. My old bag lasted me over 10 years and still usable it just looks a little grungy. This backcountry bag had issues after the second use. The mesh pocket on the inside of the flap is already coming apart at the seam. Not sure if I just happened to get a manufacturing defect on that or what but not impressed. Was really hopeful for this bag but it just missed the mark for me.

Your new goto duffel

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

New goto for my riding (MTB) gear or travel duffel for a long weekend. Sizable duffel that can handle all of my mtn bike gear. Thick material looks to be extremely durable, and the detachable backpack straps are a huge bonus. The all black is a Gucci as it gets

Perfect duffel bags are needed for this dude to hit the mountains 🏔️ each month helping people. I’m a proud owner of epic pagucci (Patagonia black hole 55) it’s 10/10 -but I needed bigger and the backcountry is 4 ⭐️ so far - will know after this trip!

Better than a Black Hole Bag!!!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These bags are so well made. Sturdier than a Patagonia Black Hole Duffel. I love all of the pockets. The loops are great for clipping gear on. The colors are great! This is my second one. I bought my first for ski boots and gear. This one I use for travel. It’s perfect for a week long trip.

Wanted to Like; But Functional Issues

Size Bought:
60l
Height:
6' 2"
Weight:
175

I really wanted to like this bag but there are too many functional issues. PROS * GOOD MATERIAL. Material seems sturdy. Believe this bag will last. * COLOR PATTERNS. Unique and vibrant color options. * SIZEABLE POCKETS. Large side pockets (helpful for things like keeping gym shoes separate CONS 1) STRAP CLIPS CONSTANTLY FALL OFF. The clips that hold the long straps together keep popping out. Every other time I use the bag I essentially have to reclip the end of at least one set of straps. I see at least one other user is having this issue 2) STRAP SETUP. I wish there was the option for one strap across the bag so you could carry the bag with one strap diagonal across your chest like many duffel bags. However, the relatively thin straps that come with the bag are not conducive to this approach or comfortable enough for this. Your options are either to hold the bag with one hand using the short straps or carry the duffel bag like a backpack. For the bigger bags (60L+) this is too burdensome. I strongly suggest Backcountry better design the strap for comfort and allow a single strap approach. Overall Backcountry has a way to go before making this a top notch item.
