Term: Entries must be received by Google over Twitter beginning October 4, 2010. The first 140 eligible responders will receive a t-shirt.

Sponsor: Google Inc. located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 is the sponsor of this promotion ("Google").

Eligibility: The Gmail Haiku Promotion ("Promotion") is open to individuals who are (1) over the age of eighteen (18) at the time of entry; (2) a resident of the United States; and (3) a registered member of Twitter. To register for Twitter, visit twitter.com and follow the steps included on the site. Membership to Twitter is free. Employees, officers, and directors of the member companies of Google, Inc., their subsidiaries and affiliated companies and their immediate families and those living in their households, are not eligible to participate in the Promotion. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  Google reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time.

How to Enter: Eligible participants may enter by submitting a haiku or short poem to Gmail via Twitter (including an @gmail or #gmail tag in the tweet). The first 140 people who respond with an eligible entry will receive a t-shirt. Participants may enter multiple times, but are only eligible to win one prize.

All Haikus and poems submitted must be ‘family friendly’ – no bad words, no lewd language, and no inappropriate content, at Sponsor’s discretion. Additionally, do not include other entity’s trademarks or brand terms. Lastly, do not say anything disparaging about Google, Google’s competitors, or any other company.

ALL ELIGIBLE ENTRIES WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE PROMOTION. Google is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete and illegible entry materials. Entries are void if they are in whole or in part illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error, forged, mechanically reproduced or obtained through fraud or theft. By entering you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and that all decisions of Google are final.

Privacy: Google will be collecting personal data about winning participants to obtain their mailing address to fulfill the prizes. Google will treat this data in accordance with its privacy policy, located at http://www.google.com/intl/en/privacypolicy.html. In addition, Google may use and share your personal data with third parties in order to fulfill its obligation to administer and sponsor this Promotion.

Prize: The first 140 eligible entrants will be considered winners will receive a t-shirt (ARV of each individual prize: $20.00). Prize may be subject to terms, restrictions and conditions imposed by Google.

Winner Selection: Google will recognize the first 140 entries which are eligible (see How to Enter) after October 4, 2010 as potential winners. Submissions which do not meet the criteria in How to Enter will not be eligible to win. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries Google receives and the rate at which they are submitted.  

Google will contact winners over Twitter to receive their mailing information for prize fulfillment. Google and its affiliates, subsidiaries and related companies, or their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will not be liable for unsuccessful efforts to notify a winner. The prize will be delivered within four weeks. No prize transfer, assignment or substitution by winner permitted except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. If the Prize becomes unavailable, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.  All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. If the potential winner declines the prize, does not respond to the prize notification, fails to claim the prize, is unavailable for prize fulfillment, fails to abide by the Official Rules, or is ineligible, Google may select an alternate winner from all remaining eligible entries. If prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize is forfeited and Google may select an alternate winner from all remaining eligible entries.  

Right to Cancel:  If for any reason the Promotion is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, printing errors, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Promotion, Google reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion. Google further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the submission process or any other part of the Promotion.  

Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties: IN NO EVENT WILL GOOGLE OR ITS AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES AND RELATED COMPANIES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROMOTION OR FOR ANY ACTION OR OMISSION MADE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROMOTION. Governing Law. This Promotion is governed by the laws of California without regard to the conflict of laws provision.
