Lee is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals. Lee is getting some rest for Wednesday's afternoon game after catching all nine innings of Tuesday night's 4-3 loss. Chuckie Robinson will start behind the plate in the series finale.

Robert ultimately stayed put ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, and though he'll remain with the White Sox through at least the end of the season, he'll get a breather Wednesday. Dominic Fletcher will patrol center field in place of Robert, who reached base five times in the first two games of the series.
Vargas went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. Vargas made his debut with the White Sox after being traded from the Dodgers on Monday. He served as the designated hitter and hit second in the lineup. The White Sox could eventually have Vargas see time at third base, second base or in the corner outfield, and the final two months of the campaign should offer him the opportunity for his most consistent playing time in the majors.
Lopez went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and a walk Tuesday against the Royals. Lopez led off for the third straight contest and has tallied at least one hit on each occasion while scoring three runs. He has just a .049 ISO across 320 plate appearances for the season, though he has only a 14.7 percent strikeout rate and a 7.7 percent walk rate. If Lopez sticks as the leadoff hitter, he could be a decent source of runs for the final two months of the campaign.
Robert went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Royals. The trade deadline came and went with Robert still on the White Sox roster, and the 26-year-old outfielder celebrated by stealing his 15th bag of the year in the eighth inning, although he was also caught stealing for the first time in 2024 in the first frame. Robert has had a sluggish July at the plate, slashing .244/.313/.400 with three homers, eight runs and 11 RBI, but he's been busy any time he's gotten on the basepaths -- 12 of his stolen bases on the season have come in the last 24 games.
The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Tuesday saw the White Sox trade Paul DeJong to Kansas City, so the team will now call upon Sosa to replenish its infield depth. The 24-year-old owns a .237/.274/.350 slash line through 187 plate appearances with the White Sox, and he has put up similar numbers since being optioned to Charlotte on July 17.
Brebbia (0-6) allowed three earned runs on one hit and one walk while recording one out to take the loss Monday against the Royals. Brebbia is the presumed closer in Chicago after Michael Kopech was dealt to the Dodgers on Monday. However, things didn't go as planned when he entered the game with a runner on first and a one-run lead, as he allowed the first two batters he faced to reach base -- one was hit by a pitch -- before serving up a game-winning grand slam to Bobby Witt. Brebbia has now allowed eight earned runs across his last five appearances -- spanning four innings -- so even if he does pick up rare save chances, he's likely to provide very poor ratios.
