Feduccia was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. Feduccia was called up Saturday and made his debut as a pinch hitter Wednesday. He'll make way on the roster for the newly-acquired Kevin Kiermaier.
Flaherty is slated to make his first start with the Dodgers in Oakland on Saturday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. Before being traded to Los Angeles on Tuesday, Flaherty was scheduled to make his next start with the Tigers on Thursday. He'll instead get a couple extra days of rest and take the mound in the middle game of Los Angeles' weekend set in Oakland. Flaherty will look to extend a fantastic two-month stretch during which he's posted a 1.77 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 52:10 K:BB over 45.2 innings while going 6-1 across eight starts.
Kershaw (0-1) allowed seven runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over 3.2 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Padres. The Dodgers made three errors in this contest, which didn't make life any easier for Kershaw in his second start of the season. He also threw a wild pitch and landed a decent 55 of 83 pitches for strikes in the short start. The southpaw is likely one or two starts away from a full workload at this stage. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Phillies.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Muncy (oblique) "crossed a hurdle" after visiting a chiropractor and is scheduled to start taking swings Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. The 33-year-old has been sidelined since mid-May due to the oblique strain, as his rehab program has been stalled multiple times due to lingering soreness. Muncy may have now finally turned a corner, but he'll likely need to ramp up his baseball work with no further issues to have a chance of rejoining the Dodgers in August.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Betts (hand) is participating in batting practice and that a return in a couple weeks is "very realistic," Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Betts continues to ramp up his baseball work in his rehab from a fractured left hand, and the finish line may finally be in sight. The 31-year-old could soon progress to live batting practice, and that figures to be one of the final hurdles before being cleared for game action. It remains to be seen if Betts will require a rehab assignment before returning, but even if necessary, it may not be a lengthy stint in the minors.
Ohtani went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Padres. Though Ohtani was hitless for a second straight game, he managed to swipe a bag for the fourth consecutive contest. He's already reached a career-high mark with 28 steals on the season and not only should easily reach 30 thefts for the first time but has a legitimate chance to get to 40. With 32 homers on the campaign, Ohtani is threatening to record the sixth 40-40 season in MLB history.
Treinen blew a save in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, allowing two runs on two hits while also striking out two over an inning of work. Treinen was given the ball for the ninth inning with the Dodgers up 5-3 and could not convert. He allowed a first-pitch home run to Manny Machado before Jackson Merrill knotted things up with a home run of his own two batters later. Prior to his last two outings, Treinen had not given up an earned run the entire month of July spanning over 10 appearances, but he's now surrendered three runs on three homers over his last two appearances. The Dodgers' bullpen has been a mess in July, with four different pitchers garnering saves, as manager Dave Roberts has yet to figure out a permanent solution for their closer role. Treinen would've been the fifth reliever this month to record a save had he been able to convert. Still, the 35-year-old has posted good numbers overall with a 2.86 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 37:9 K:BB in 28.1 innings.
