Haliburton compiled six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and one assist in eight minutes during Team USA's 103-86 win over South Sudan on Wednesday. Haliburton wasn't part of Team USA's rotation during Sunday's win over Serbia to begin Olympic play, but he saw some minutes during Wednesday's comfortable victory and was efficient from the floor. Despite his efficiency against South Sudan, Haliburton could have trouble generating consistent production as part of Team USA's talented roster as the team chases its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.

Latest Pacers News
Tyrese Haliburton : Plays eight minutes as reserve
Haliburton compiled six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and one assist in eight minutes during Team USA's 103-86 win over South Sudan on Wednesday. Haliburton wasn't part of Team USA's rotation during Sunday's win over Serbia to begin Olympic play, but he saw some minutes during Wednesday's comfortable victory and was efficient from the floor. Despite his efficiency against South Sudan, Haliburton could have trouble generating consistent production as part of Team USA's talented roster as the team chases its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.
Tyrese Haliburton : Not part of rotation versus Serbia
Haliburton did not appear in Team USA's 110-84 win over Serbia in the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Haliburton was unable to play in the final two games of the Pacers' playoff series against the Celtics due to a left hamstring injury. The All-Star has since returned, playing in four of Team USA's five showcase games before the start of the Paris Olympics. In those four appearances, Haliburton averaged 2.0 points, 2.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals across 14.8 minutes per game. However, the 24-year-old was entirely phased out of the lineup by the fifth exhibition matchup, and he has yet to see the floor in the group phase of the Olympics.
James Johnson : Returning to Indiana
Johnson and the Pacers agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Johnson has appeared in only 27 games for the Pacers over the last two seasons. However, the 37-year-old's veteran bench presence has been a bonus for a young team led by Tyrese Haliburton.
Andrew Nembhard : Nets three-year extension
Nembhard agreed Wednesday with the Pacers on a three-year, $59 million contract extension, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. After the Pacers selected him with the first pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft, Nembhard signed a three-year, $6.4 million contract that included a $2.19 million team option for 2025-26. According to Wojnarowski, the Pacers will decline that team option as part of the extension, which will go into effect beginning in 2025-26 and keeps him on the books through his age-27 campaign in 2027-28. Nembhard was solid enough in a supporting role during the 2023-24 regular season with averages of 9.2 points, 4.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 three-pointers in 25.0 minutes while shooting 49.8 percent from the field over 68 appearances (47 starts), but it was his performance in the playoffs that likely has the Pacers even more excited about his prospects moving forward. He averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 32.6 minutes over his 17 playoff contests and became the fourth player in NBA history to shoot at least 55 percent from the floor and at least 45 percent from three-point range in a single postseason, per ESPN Stats & Information. The new deal locks him in as Tyrese Haliburton's running mate in the backcourt for at least the next four years.
Tristen Newton : Scores 17 points in SL
Newton logged 17 points (3-9 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals across 27 minutes of Saturday's 100-93 loss to the Cavaliers in Summer League. Newton took on a larger offensive role with Johnny Furphy, Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker sitting out. While he struggled from long range, Newton had no troubles getting to the basket and drawing fouls, attempting a game-high 10 free throws. A second round pick in the 2024 NBA draft, Newton isn't expected to see regular action with the Pacers as a rookie.
Johnny Furphy : Sitting out SL Finale
Furphy won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Cavaliers, Tony East of SI.com reports. Furphy will join Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker on the sidelines for Saturday's contest, with the trio getting the night off after playing in each of Indiana's first four Summer league games. Furphy will leave Las Vegas having averaged. 14.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals while hitting 10 of his 35 three-point attempts.
Obi Toppin : Expected to ink contract with Indy
Toppin intends to sign a four-year, $60 million contract to stay with the Pacers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Toppin proved his worth as a top contributor for the club this year in both the playoffs and regular-season. The big man averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.1 minutes across 82 regular-season games. The 26-year-old also posted career highs across the board, and he shot 57.3 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from deep.
Obi Toppin : Gets qualifying offer
The Pacers issued Toppin a qualifying offer Wednesday, making him a restricted free agent, Tony East of SI.com reports. Toppin set career highs across the board during his first season in Indiana, as he averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 stocks in 21.1 minutes across 82 regular-season appearances. He also provided a spark off the bench during the postseason, scoring at least 10 points in six straight games at one point. During that stretch, Toppin averaged 15.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 20.0 minutes per game.
