OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — Eric Hanna shot his way into the school record book last week at Olmsted Falls.

He didn't need anything like the 49-point performance he had Friday at Westlake. Thirteen was just fine Tuesday at home to help No. 11 Olmsted Falls take down rival Lakewood, 57-44, and assert the Bulldogs as the Southwestern Conference leaders.

Hanna tied Jason Ludwig's 1988 record for most points in a game Friday in a blowout win at Westlake.

Defense ruled Tuesday against Lakewood, which is ranked 19th in the cleveland.com Top 25 and nipped the Bulldogs the last time they played by a 44-40 score. Falls (14-2, 10-2 SWC) took control with a 20-10 run in the second quarter and then pushed the game out of reach with a 21-13 run in the fourth.

Ryan Higginbotham added 12 points and Michael Fritz scored 11 for the Bulldogs, who hold a 1.5-game lead on Lakewood.

Tommy Sala paced the Rangers with 10 points.

A year ago, Falls and Lakewood shared the SWC championship after splitting their regular-season matchups. They could meet a third time in the Division I Elyria Catholic District tournament.
