Lexington linebacker and Ohio State commit Cade Stover named 2018 Mr. Football in Ohio

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Lexington senior linebacker and Ohio State commit Cade Stover was named Ohio's Mr. Football in 2018 on Wednesday.

Stover had 175 total tackles, 11 for a loss, a sack, two forced fumbles, four interceptions and nine passes defensed. He also rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead Lexington to a 7-4 record and a playoff appearance.

Stover is the first Ohio State commit to be named Mr. Football since Joe Burrow in 2015.

According to Jake Furr of the Mansfield News Journal, Stover is the first player from Richland County to receive the award.
