Defending OHSAA champ Moeller wins AP state boys basketball poll in D-I; Lorain and STVM make cut from area

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defending OHSAA Division I state boys basketball champion Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller is the favorite to repeat in Columbus.

The Crusaders will enter the postseason as The Associated Press poll champ, following the its final rankings that were released Monday.

Moeller received 17 of 18 first-place votes, with one voter giving the nod to Pickerington Central. Both teams reached the state final four last year, along with Lorain, which is Northeast Ohio's top-ranked squad at No. 4. The Titans' only loss came against St. Vincent-St. Mary, the defending Division II state champ that is now in D-I. The Fighting Irish were tied for seventh in this poll.

Trotwood-Madison in D-II, Archbold in D-III and Berlin Hiland in D-IV are the other poll champs.
