  • Rain or shine, one thing is sure – the Israeli high-tech industry has been, and still is, a model of consistency as the engine of the Israeli economy as a whole. 🚂 The Israel Innovation Authority together with the Chief Economist's Office at the Ministry of Finance today published a new report providing a first-of-its-kind in-depth examination of state revenues related to high-tech employment, including income tax and corporate tax payments. The report reveals the substantial contribution of the high-tech sector to state revenues. For example, in 2021 employees in the sector were responsible for about 36% of all income tax payments.  💰 The quality of the human capital and the success of Israel as a global tech hub, draws the best multinational companies to invest in R&D centers and offer very competitive salaries that trickle down as tax payments generated to the state. Amazingly enough, 85% of the state's revenue from the high-tech sector is related to workers in the sector. The remaining 15% comes from corporate tax.   As Israel’s dependence on tax revenues from the high-tech sector grows, it is paramount to keep this engine running in the future. Here are some of the recommendations the Innovation Authority has provided in the report: ✔Investment in R&D infrastructure and startups ✔ Expanding the employment base in high-tech     ✔Improving Data Infrastructure for Policy Making   Learn more and read the full report and recommendations: 👇 https://lnkd.in/dAwtThAy

Did you feel that Olympic spirit? The summer games are over, and we witnessed humanity’s greatest athletes performing super-human feats. But just imagine how much better they are going to get thanks to sports-tech! 🏅 🏆 When every second and every inch counts, pro athletes use the best tech out there to get an edge on the competition. The shiny outfits are the first things we notice, but there’s more to it than just looks. The technology behind shoes, fabrics and the various apparel articles are helping to push athletes’ performance and keeping them cool, or warm, while doing it. With over 60 companies in that sector in Israel, better look out for these outfits. 🎽 Clothes aren’t the only thing that athletes wear - as seen in your local gym, devices designed to monitor physical performance have already trickled down to everyday use. In the pro-level, the amount of data is only getting larger and so are ways to collect it at increasing granularity. It is no surprise that AI is entering this field, with 363 patents registered between 2020-2023 globally. 🎾 📺 This often-overlooked sector of the tech ecosystem isn’t focused only on improving athletic performance, but also how we normal humans consume sports. In the age of content streaming, live sport contests stand alone as the undisputed ultimate live event. With a market value of B$22.5 in 2022 and growing rapidly, we’ve only begun to see the potential of the new generation of viewing sports. 📈 Up to date, the Innovation Authority has invested in 26 companies in the sector, amounting to a total of M$37. The bulk of these investments were in companies engaged in streaming technologies and AI applications.

🇮🇱 Israel's tech sector remains a powerhouse in 2024! Despite challenges, like a decrease in #VC_investments and mobilization during the recent conflict, the resilience of our startups shines through. In the first half of 2024 alone, private funding surged by 31% to $5.1 billion, with #cybersecurity leading the charge, securing 52% of investments. Major acquisitions, including NVIDIA's moves in #AI and Blackstone's stake in @Priority, underscore Israel's global tech prowess. Amidst uncertainty, efforts from the Israel Innovation Authority and private investors are pivotal. Together, we're ensuring our innovation ecosystem thrives. 💡🚀 #IsraeliTech #Cybersecurity #Innovation

Hungry way before lunchtime? we can't blame you, food makes the world go round 😋 But how do we deal with traditional food manufacturing processes that are harmful to the environment and to the health of both humans and animals? Check out how the genius Israeli food-tech addresses two foody favourites: Remilk uses micro-organisms in the form of yeast to produce milk protein. This solution is intended to enhance the efficiency of the protein production and to meet the needs of the world’s growing population without having to rely on animals. 🐄 🥛 The practice is based on bio-convergence – a combination of biology, computation, and engineering, including extensive use of AI 👨🔬 👩🔬 Now it's no secret that people like honey – but its production depends on two things of which there is currently a shortage: bees and flowers. So what to do? 🐝 🌺 Enter Bee-io Honey Ltd : the company has developed an innovative technology that produces honey for human consumption without bees, with the aim of introducing sustainable honey that is beneficial to both humans and bees. Bee-io Honey currently produces six types of honey in different flavours – all produced locally without the need to import or set up hives. In addition to all the environmental and health advantages, the cultured honey has proven, already in the pilot stage, to be competitive in price with natural honey. 🍯 https://lnkd.in/dVrbWJKT
