A new study led by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that older adults with greater severity of #hearingloss were more likely to have dementia, however the likelihood of #dementia was lower among #hearingaid users compared to non-users. Older adults get hearing tests far and between and keep pushing them away pinning it to age-related changes. While that may be true and some amount of hearing loss is expected and acceptable, a considerable amount of hearing loss impacts negatively and makes day-to-day life interactions difficult. So, we decided to make it easier for our members to get hearing tests done without having to give it much thought by onboarding HearClear India as our partner to conduct these hearing tests at their homes and also at residential premises. In the last three months, we have conducted hearing camps at several apartment communities across Bangalore, have tested 125+ senior residents, done 30+ home visits, and fitted almost a dozen of seniors with hearing aids. The change in their hearing and their participation in activities post wearing hearing aids has been remarkable.
