Berger Paints India has partnered with Smile Foundation for the iTrain on Wheels programme - an upskilling initiative aimed at honing the skills of aspiring and existing painters. This programme is helping develop a vast pool of skilled workforce, expand their employability opportunities, and help them build entrepreneurial skills. Since 2021, the iTrain on Wheels Programme has trained thousands of painters through mobile iTrain vans in 24 states over 100+ remote sites nationwide. “For the last three months, no one in our community has had regular work. Sometimes, I leave our home, traveling to distant cities, hoping to find labour jobs. If I find work, I stay; if not, I return to my family, carrying the heavy burden of disappointment. Yet, despite these hardships, our hearts are full of hope for our children. We dream of a brighter future for them through education. We even visualize Raja and Sunny as doctor, engineer and even teacher so that they can further help the society in every way possible. They are dedicated students and attend the learning center regularly. Empowering 50,000 Girls: Project Manzil Bridges Vocational Education and Real-World Success Project Manzil, supported by IPE Global and implemented by Smile Foundation, has effectively connected vocational education to real-world applications via comprehensive counseling sessions in hundreds of schools across Rajasthan. Over 50,000 girls from grades 9 to 12 have participated in these sessions, covering a wide array of topics. These sessions have provided an in-depth understanding of vocational courses, explore higher education paths, discuss career opportunities, and emphasize personal and professional growth. For many girls, this was their first in-depth experience to such guidance since beginning their vocational education. Empowering Women through Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship Smile Foundation recently organized a community mobilization meeting with stakeholders and entrepreneurship development aspirants in Thyamagondlu, Nelamangala Block, Bangalore Rural District. The discussion focused on the importance of financial literacy training, effective business establishment approaches, and tackling marketing challenges at the village level, providing valuable insights to empower their entrepreneurial journeys. The meeting also marked the inauguration of the Community Resource Center (CRC) office, led by the local GPLF President and attended by stakeholders and NRLM officials. This center will serve as a hub for promoting enterprise development and supporting women entrepreneurs in the community. The Swabhiman program is dedicated to fostering self-reliance and empowering women by providing essential resources and training.
