“… If everything is important, then nothing is important …” Prioritisation is as essential in professional life as in personal, and IMHO should be decided basis: Does it “Align” with your strategic priorities, will it deliver the “Outcome” expected, Is the “Timing” right given the circumstances ? and when decision’s made, it’s best to “eat that frog” - pick the one you’re most likely to procrastinate on, finish it first. Easier said than done, but that’s the star ⭐️ one should aim for

Cloud has truly democratised Data; enabling extraction of 'Insights' from 'information'. Insights are what drive better decision making - right from giving, viz., right intel to healthcare professionals & patients from medical test results; to Banks reducing CAC by targeting right prospects & markets etc -> the more pointed the insight, more effective the result. On the other hand it also exposed how there still are huge silos of data, yet to be brought into the mainstream - before they can use the power of AI. Interesting times ahead !

I believe focusing and staying true to fundamentals is what makes any relationship strong and long lasting. True for relationships with Consulting clients as well. As long as we deliver solid value, consistently and with an honest intent, the clients will stay. In fact, this will help build a partnership of 'trust' that will spawn many more avenues for collaboration, turning a 'client' into a true 'partner'. The question in our minds everyday should be "How do I deliver better value, than what I have been delivering" instead of "How should I retain this client". Focusing on the former, will ensure the latter naturally gets done.

Identification of root cause is a critical first step, and in my view both implicit and explicit exploration, provides best insights. Deeply technical teams may not be the most vocal in articulating behavioural or environmental challenges being faced, hence a right empathetic approach that implicitly observes, engages, prioritises and addresses the challenges in a gradual fashion, may work best. What I feel is most important in such situations is to gain team’s trust and give them hope - that we recognise there is a challenge, our intent is to do course correction and “with” their involvement and inputs, we’ll turn the ship around.
