PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Dear Lindal clients, associates, and friends, I’m thrilled to greet you as the new president of Lindal Cedar Homes! I took over from my father, Bob Lindal, in September 2022, as the third generation of our family to lead the company. I joined Lindal soon after graduating from Scripps College in Claremont, CA, starting in customer service. I’ve spent time in every department, including marketing, accounting, sales and manufacturing.
I am the person who is here every day to work on the health and success of Lindal. To that end, my focus is on the acquisition and retention of core employees and independent representatives, maintaining our commitment to excellent customer service, and staying ahead of our clients’ desires with our unique and innovative modern home designs. My grandfather, Sir Walter Lindal, was a pioneer of green building, and that’s a legacy I’m proud to continue as president.
As you’ll see in some of the modern home designs featured in this calendar, layouts have gotten more open plan over the years, and recently we’ve seen increased demand for floor plans with separate office rooms and spaces for children to learn and play. While some things have changed significantly during my time at Lindal, what hasn’t changed is our clients’ desire for a beautiful and unique home to call their own. Whether you’re a current Lindal homeowner or thinking about becoming one, we hope the homes in this calendar inspire you!

1 DISCOVERY PROCESS: DESIGN PREFERENCES
Now is the time for research. To get started, determine the style of home, desired square feet, number of bedrooms and baths you want. Consider the layout of rooms and the internal flow of how you want to live in your home.
DISCOVERY PROCESS: DETERMINE A BUDGET 2
Contact a mortgage company to pre-qualify or based on your income and savings, determine what you are prepared to spend. Your local Lindal dealer can help you design a home that is within your budget.
ORDER & DESIGN: ESTIMATING THE COSTS 5
Once your home has been designed and modified to suit your needs, your Lindal dealer can complete a preliminary price on the materials package and walk you through all the necessary steps ahead.
ORDER & DESIGN: PURCHASE AGREEMENT 6
When you are ready to proceed, you will need to complete a full home order which includes a signed Purchase and Sale Agreement, a deposit with Lindal, and approved sketches. At this point, you are officially underway!
PLANNING: SELECT A FLOOR PLAN 3
Your dealer can help choose the plan closest in design and rough cost to what you have in mind. It is important to find a building lot before the actual design of your home.
PLANNING: BUILDING SITE 4
If you already have your building lot, your local Lindal dealer can analyze it for you — helping to adapt your design for the site to minimize dramatic topographical changes, which can be costly.
ORDER & DESIGN: FINAL DECISIONS 7
Immediately following the finalization of the decisions and placement of your home order, it is vital to meet again with your mortgage company to begin both the construction loan and the long-term mortgage process.
PRODUCTION: AUTHORIZATION TO SHIP 9
As soon as we receive final payment and the authorization to ship your Lindal home we can begin preparing the home package for delivery.
CONSTRUCTION: FRAMING BEGINS
The foundation is complete. Your Lindal home has been delivered. The building contractor begins framing your home.
PRODUCTION: DELIVERY SCHEDULE 10
Lindal will work with your local dealer to put together a delivery schedule for the home package and shipping is arranged to arrive at your building site.
CONSTRUCTION: FINISHING
Framing is completed, windows and doors are installed, and your home is weathertight. Finish materials not provided by Lindal have been selected by you and installed by your builder.
PRODUCTION: FOUNDATION PREPARATION 11
Your selected builder gets the site and foundation ready before the Lindal building materials arrive.
ORDER & DESIGN: CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS 8
The first stage of your home’s plans is scheduled at Lindal. You will be informed of this timeline by your local Lindal dealer. When plans arrive, you can finalize builder choice and bids and apply for permits.
PRODUCTION: DELIVERY 12
The Lindal home package is delivered to your building site, where the builder unloads the Lindal materials and the local dealer takes a complete materials inventory.
LANDSCAPING 15
CONSTRUCTION:
To save money, some homeowners move into their homes and complete their own landscaping as time allows; others prefer to move into a completed home with landscaping in full bloom.
CONSTRUCTION: POST-BUILD 16
You will be given a certificate of occupancy from your local building department. Welcome to the Lindal family of homeowners. We are proud to provide you with a Lifetime Structural Warranty.
