We obtained from RINA two certifications for the methodology of qualification of the performances of subsea hydrogen pipelines, a key solution for the energy transition. Specifically, we have developed a protocol to evaluate the performance of metallic materials and their welds under hydrogen flow, ensuring compatibility during both planning and operational phases. These acknowledgments add to Saipem’s track record of 65 years of offshore activity for the transportation of hydrocarbons and attest our ability to plan, realize, and install pipelines for the transportation of hydrogen. 🎯 We reached a major industrial milestone in subsea pipeline technology! We have upgraded the technology initially developed for the internal lining onshore pipelines by United Pipeline Systems, Inc. to offshore and subsea use, earning the innovation the Statement of Qualified Technology from DNV.    Plastics will replace corrosion-resistant alloys in the inner coating of pipelines thus reducing the total system cost by up to 40%.  DNV's certification grants our innovation a unique rating on the market as it qualifies the technology for even ultra-deepwater and high-pressure pipelines (1000 bar, or approximately 15,000 psi). According to the cooperation agreement signed with UPS, we will market the upgraded technology for water injection pipelines in a first step, then for risers, both in traditional offshore markets like the Middle East and in frontier subsea markets with ultra-deep high-pressure reservoirs such as the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil. #Saipem #EngineeringForASustainableFuture #Innovation #Pipelines #PipelineIntegrity #OilAndGas

We participate in the COREu EU Project, one of the largest research and innovation projects in Carbon Capture and Storage funded by Horizon Europe. COREu is an initiative with a cross-European footprint that involves over 40 partners, focusing on advancing CCS projects with demonstrations across multiple geographies, and strategic research to accelerate deployment, properly accounting for technical, economic, and social issues. 👉 We will be involved in studies to improve CO2 capture processes, transportation, and storage, also providing our contribution to harmonize technical standards and scientific results for the evaluation of metering instruments. During the demonstration phase, we will contribute to implementing key technologies to ensure safe and long-term storage of the injected CO2 by deploying our most advanced autonomous underwater drone FlatFish, that will progress innovative methodologies for the inspection of the subsea pipelines and of the wells around the injection site. We will also provide a dedicated system of intelligent subsea-acquisition nodes based on Seanapsys, Saipem Internet of Underwater Things solution, to monitor the micro-seismicity of the area during the CO2 injection phase. [#NewMilestone] 🎯 A new subsea processing milestone! Together with Curtiss-Wright Corporation, we completed the qualification process of an innovative all-electric seabed barrier fluid-less pump. This unprecedented technology will enable the subsea injection of treated sea water into a reservoir, thus extending the lifecycle of subsea fields. While the conventional pumping system features a barrier fluid which serves as coolant, lubricant and insulation, the technology developed by Saipem and Curtiss-Wright is based instead on an innovative design whereby the subsea pump is cooled and lubricated by the sea water itself, while the motor is protected by a canned casing suitable for deepwater applications. The absence of the barrier fluid avoids the need for its constant replenishment and the risk of sea water contamination. This milestone is a testament to our investments in innovation to extend the life of assets in the subsea sector and to make offshore operations safer and more sustainable. Our 2024 half-year results showcase the continuous growth in revenues and margins, reflecting the strength of our market demand and competitive offerings, particularly in offshore activities and large integrated projects. Here's a snapshot of our achievements: 🔹 Revenues: €6,418 million, +20% to the corresponding period of 2023. 🔹 Net Profit: €118 million, significantly up from €40 million in the first half of 2023. 🔹 Order Intake: €7 billion, confirming strong market demand and our competitive edge. 🔹 Backlog: around €30 billion. We are leaders in the underwater: we will ensure the subsea intervention services for GreenStream, the Libya-Italy pipeline, the longest in the Mediterranean Sea, and a fundamental underwater infrastructure for the Italian energy supply. Specifically, we will provide integrated inspection engineering, maintenance, and emergency services. The supervision and the subsea intervention services will be managed by our center of excellence for subsea robotics Sonsub and executed in coordination with the Saipem Engineering Hub in Fano, Italy. The project expands the activities we have been undertaking for GreenStream since 2008. It also consolidates our long-term cooperation with GreenStream BV, which in 2002 awarded us a contract for the pipelaying of the GreenStream, a project thanks to which we achieved the record for the deepest pipelaying with anchors. We have been awarded two offshore projects in Saudi Arabia, under the existing Long-Term Agreement with Saudi Aramco. Our scope of work involves:  🔹 For the first project: the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation of a crude trunkline of approximately 50 km with a diameter of 42” for the Abu Safa Field; 🔹 For the second project: the production maintenance programs of the Berri and Manifa Fields. Saipem Contracting Netherlands B.V., in a consortium with BOS Shelf LLC and BOS Shelf International FZCO, signed a framework agreement with BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited for the execution of offshore activities in the Azerbaijani waters of the Caspian Sea. The consortium’s responsibilities include engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of subsea infrastructures and life-of-field services.  We will operate the SCV Khankendi while providing the crew to perform the marine activities for the Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields.  The agreement reinforces our long-standing relationship with bp and consolidates our presence in an area where we have been operating since the late 1990s. It also confirms our role as an advanced and reliable partner for all kinds of offshore operations and services.
