ゴードン・S.ウッド（Gordon S. Wood）　ブラウン大学名誉教授。アメリカ独立革命期についての最高権威の一人である。1993年ピューリッツァー賞 受賞。1970年バンクロフト賞 受賞。2010年ナショナル・ヒューマニティ・メダル受賞。

わが国では『ベンジャミン・フランクリン 、アメリカ人になる』（池田年穂 ほか訳。慶應義塾大学出版会 。2010年）が唯一の邦訳である。 1933年11月27日　マサチューセッツ州 コンコードで生まれる (81歳)
