マウイ島最大の空港であり、ホノルル国際空港からのジェット機のほか、アメリカ西海岸からの直行便も発着するカフルイ空港と、 クルーズ船を含む大型船舶の停泊が可能なカフルイ港が存在するなど、マウイ島の玄関口となっている。
