Star Wars Who’s Who in the Galaxy Introduces Kids to the Star Wars Universe

When introducing kids to Star Wars for the first time, it’s fun to start with the characters. After all like many of us, these could be stories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

The people are just part of the story, there are aliens, droids, and the most impressive creatures you’ll ever see. That’s what makes the Star Wars universe so unique and so magical.

Star Wars Who’s Who in the Galaxy (A Character Storybook) by Ella Patrick is a great way to give kids their first taste of the heroes and villains in a galaxy far, far, away. The picture book sets up the characters’ backstory from the first movie to the 9th. It’s especially interesting to see Luke’s journey from farm boy to his lone adventures on Ahch-To.

The book is a great introduction for kids to get them interested in the films, whichever order you choose to show them in. (I’m partial to starting with A New Hope but only because that classic has been with us since the very beginning in 1977.) By laying out the book in the order of the movies, it provides a great lead up to the finale of the Skywalker trilogy—Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker—coming out in December.

Who’s Who in the Galaxy is the ideal book to read together with warm milk and a few Chewie cookies. You’ll find the best family bonding experience can be over cookies and Star Wars.

Star Wars Who’s Who in the Galaxy (A Character Storybook) comes out on July 16 but can be pre-ordered now.

It’s not a good sign when there’s a glaring typo in the book.
“They steel and old ship and blast off to space.”
