Police investigating critical-injury crash east of the Las Vegas Strip

A person was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash today at a busy intersection east of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

The crash was reported about 12:15 p.m. at Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, police said.

An occupant of one of the vehicles was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The intersection was closed for the investigation, and motorists were advised to avoid the area, police said.

No additional details were immediately released.
