Inactive rights holders, September 2024

edit

For this month we have:

  • two inactive administrators: Vargenau (0 admin actions in the past 6 months) and Martin Urbanec (4 admin actions). Removal has been requested at meta;
  • no inactive bureaucrats;
  • two inactive interface administrators having, 0 interface admin actions in the past 12 month: Multichill and Ladsgroup. I will remove their rights instantly.

Thank you for your service. --Lymantria (talk) 07:34, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Lymantria: this comes as a surprise to me. I am aware of User:MisterSynergy/activity/Administrator, but I didn't know interface administrators were disconnected from this. My bad.
I'm still working through my post-Wikimania things to do and that would include some MediaWiki edits and fixing my own configuration at User:BotMultichillT/rkdimages collections.js.
Not being able to access that is quite inconvenient. I see in the policy that the right "may have their interface administrator flag removed". Can I appeal to your discretion undo this removal? Multichill (talk) 13:23, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Antwort
As for the MediaWiki edits, you'd have to rerequest your flag, for edits and fixing within your own user: namespace, the flag is not required. I don't think it is a good idea to bypass our policy and undo the removal. Perhaps it is good that Ymblanter and/or DannyS712 confirm (or not) my position in this. --Lymantria (talk) 16:53, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Antwort
Rerequesting the flag would definitely solve the problem, but as a general thought (I think I wrote this here before) I do not like the situation when a user can not edit files which are essential for the functioning of their (very active) bot. My preferred solution would be to restore the flag. Ymblanter (talk) 17:13, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Antwort
I see the point, I will restore the flag. --Lymantria (talk) 19:50, 1 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
