January to July was discovery to recovery. Many people have experienced a similar schedule for a major medical event.
Thanks and admiration for the doctors and staff at UW Hospital for saving and extending my life. UW doctors say it's routine for them to do heart bypass surgery because they handle more complicated operations and are a world leader in new treatments and surgeries.
It was a big deal having 15 people in an operating room focused on treating me. Maybe I'm not so special to them, but they are special to me.
Thanks to my surgeon and his staff.
The doctors at UW Hospital couldn't do their work without nurses and support staff. So many great people cared for me. Sorry, I can only recognize by name nurses Jamie and Lucey from my pre-op time. Lucey showed loving care for her patients. Jamie was an outspoken former football player from Lakeland College. I wish him well in his involvement with the nurses association and union.
