Community Resources Team

The Community Resources team supports mission-aligned individuals, groups, and organizations around the world to increase the diversity, reach, quality, and quantity of free knowledge. We offer funding opportunities, guidance, and other resources to ensure that the free knowledge is available and accessible to anyone. We promote knowledge equity aligned with the strategic direction of the Wikimedia movement.

Our team has grown and adapted to provide consistent regional support and capacity building opportunities to our partners. Program officers are oriented around geographic regions or specific programs, such as Learning & Evaluation and Wikimedia movement conferences. Each regional program officer is also the central point of contact for a priority thematic area, in order to keep a strong connection with the global movement and to facilitate interactions with the communities and Wikimedia Foundation teams.

We prioritize proactive outreach to communities that have been left out by structures of power and privilege. We provide a more holistic and accessible support to communities who request funds to support their valuable work.
